Bank cottage is a charming and characterful cottage surrounded by stunning views of the Peak District countryside. From the front patio you can enjoy a BBQ and enjoy stunning views of Bradwell Edge. Parts of the cottage are believed to date back to the 1700's. The cottage has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment. The two, double bedroomed property has many character features, including exposed stonework, exposed beams and original stone fire place with wood burning stove. There is a well appointed kitchen with a kitchen table and all appliances including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, range cooker, microwave and washing machine.

The cottage has all the facilities needed on a short break or week away, with an added touch of luxury. There is unlimited WiFi, a television/DVD in each bedroom (as well as in the sitting room) and we use excellent quality bedding and towels.

About Chris Kinvig

Caroline and I met at Sheffield University, we have made Sheffield our home. As an avid rock climber i have spent many happy years in the Peak District. We love the area and know most of its nooks and crannies. We both work locally and are often out for walks or enjoying one of the many amazing cafes or pubs.

Lovely little cottage

A lovely little cottage, in a small town. Park very nearby and small supermarket. Lovely walks and beautiful countryside. Well equipped house and nicely decorated. New carpets going down this weekend so a plus for any future guests.

We had a small incident and lost one of the keys : the owner very kindly came out to "save" us, so we were very grateful. Although he insisted not to bother to get a new key cut, we did leave a bottle of wine and £20 to cover the cost of getting a new key cut as way of apology any inconvenience but never got a thank you back, so found this a little rude.

But apart from this, we would recommend the cottage.

Enjoyed our Stay!

We had a lovely 3 days at Bank Cottage which is beautifully furnished & equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The cottage is in a great location - easy walking distance to the grocery store & really handy to all 3 pubs! We had a great time at Quiz Night at the White Hart Inn & met some friendly locals who laughed at the crazy Canadians with the dismal score of 14/ 40 who won the box of chocolates & then proceeded to share them with everyone. Many thanks to Chris who accommodated my feather/down allergy by arranging alternate bedding through a local hotel! We would all highly recommend Bank Cottage as the place to stay if you are travelling to the Peak District. - Bill, Wendy & Catherine, Ontario, Canada

This cottage is a true little gem.

We arrived at the cottage on a cold wet day, but as soon as we got in felt really cosy and warm. The cottage is beautifully furnished and there are many special touches which make it great, For example there are guides and maps of the local area, which were very useful. The view from the front of the cottage is stunning.The two bedrooms are comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Will try to visit again in better weather. Thanks Chris.

Cosy warm and comfortable.

We had such a lovely stay in this cottage. The photos don't really do it justice.

The Cottage itself has plenty of space (there were four adults staying) and was very comfortable. The beds were cosy and warm with lovely bedding. There was a whole cupboard of games and jigsaws for when the weather was too wet (or snowy!) to be out. The kitchen was really well equipped - we ate in for four out of five nights.

The village itself is quiet, but with no shortage of pubs and shops. The locals are very friendly and helpful.

This was a brilliant place to stay. Thank you Chris and Caroline!

Car: recommended

Bank Cottage is just 20 min from Chatsworth House where you can enjoy a wonderful family day out and buy amazing local produce at their farm shop. If you fancy something a little more adventurous then contact us as we are able to organise rock climbing and caving trips.
