About John Cook and Jean-Maurice Siu

Originally from the UK, John studied design at the North London School of Architecture and Design in the late 1990’s. He worked as the interior designer for a private Architectural practice in Mayfair for 9 years before moving to the Languedoc region of France where he created The Village House interior design business.

Jean-Maurice originates from New Caledonia but moved to Paris in 1988 before both he and John relocated to southern France in 2004 to renovate and create their home and business.

We found our home and christened it The Village House by setting up a small bed and breakfast business as well as our interior design business. Over the years here we have acquired the properties next door and opposite and fully renovated and refurbished them to create our two letting properties. Hopefully you will be able to experience the real french life as we do by staying in one of them !

What makes this house unique

Gabian is a charming, rural village, surrounded by vineyards, winemaking is very important here. We love the coutryside, relaxed lifestyle and of course the climate.
