Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

2 bedroom cottage, on a quiet lane above Barmouth town, private parking

Bryn Awel Cottage, Barmouth, is now available for letting, having been totally refurbished during the summer of 2016. The cottage has spectacular views across Cardigan Bay to the Lleyn peninsular. It is situated slightly out of the main town but is only a 5 minute walk to the shops and a few minutes more to the main beach area. It is an ideal location, being on a quiet lane, but very close to the beach and all the amenities of Barmouth.

We love staying in Barmouth and we have given a lot of thought to the way in which the cottage has been developed to provide a comfortable holiday home for our visitors.

The main lounge/dining area has a feature stone fireplace. Our new log burner is installed and ready for those chilly autumn and winter evenings. Don’t worry, we have full central heating throughout but sometimes you need a little extra and having a log-burner just makes the room feel that much more special. This room has a lovely view across the town to the sea, looking straight across to Bardsey Island at the end of the Lleyn Peninsula.

The lounge has a leather settee and a leather chair, together with a dining table with four chairs. We have a 32 inch flat screen TV with a Sky connection if you wish to bring your Sky box with you. We have Wifi with an excellent signal.

The adjoining kitchen is a lovely bright space. It includes a cooker, fridge, washer/dryer and dishwasher, together with all the usual; kettle, toaster, microwave etc. We like cooking and we think that we have kitted out the kitchen well with equipment for you to enjoy self-catering whilst you are with us.

In the lounge there are lots of books, including guide books, maps and information leaflets, plus board games to play on when you just want to relax at home.

The first floor, which is accessed off the lane – and we would generally use this door as the main door to the property – has two bedrooms and a shower room. The main bedroom is a large room with a king-sized bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and a chair for relaxing whilst looking across the bay. The smaller bedroom has a single bed, chest of drawers, bedside table and another sea view. There is a big shower in the bathroom.

We have a parking space on the lane behind the cottage. The lane is very quiet and you are only a few minutes walk away from being on the mountain behind Barmouth.

The cottage has a garden, which is jointly used with us (we live next door). The cottage has full central heating and double-glazing and is an ideal holiday cottage throughout the year.

We are above the town so it is a steepish walk back from the shops and beach but the views are wonderful!

We will accept one dog to stay at this property, may consider accepting two small dogs. We ask for a 25% deposit on booking; the balance is due 6 weeks before arrival. We have other Terms & Conditions of a routine nature, which we will supply as part of the booking process. STRICTLY NO SMOKING INCLUDING VAPES PLEASE.

If you like the sound of this cottage but your dates are not available our neighbouring cottage is also available for let on this website, property number 8240658.

About Richard Tudor

We love our holidays in Barmouth and when the adjoining cottage to our holiday home came on the market we snapped it up. We have then been renovating it through this summer to provide very comfortable accommodation so that we can welcome others to this lovely holiday area.

Richard Tudor purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Richard Tudor chose Barmouth

The cottage is an old miner's cottage, standing above Barmouth town, with great wide views. We like the fact that the lane behind the cottage is very quiet, just a very few local cars use it, and on the other side of the lane are the mountains above Barmouth. The cottage works as a summer home and also a cosy winter home. We enjoy our visits here all year round. Barmouth is a proper town and whilst it is quieter off-season it doesn't close up so all the pubs, cafes, shops etc are still open.

What makes this cottage unique

All year round destination. Dogs welcome, we have a dog and love to take him on holiday so know its an important feature for many. Barmouth is very dog friendly and there are lots of walks all around the cottage. We have excellent wifi.

Amazing views in beautiful Barmouth

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cottage, very convenient to the town centre. Very clean & modern and amazing views! Absolutely loved it & Barmouth is such a beautiful place with dramatic scenery. Will definitely return. Pubs all very dog friendly, stopped at the Royal each night for a nightcap on our way back to the cottage. Love this place! X

A fantastic week walking without needing to drive and the the town for evening entertainment

just 5 minutes walk make this cottage a winner!

We had snow this time which was a bonus, especially with the cosy log burner to come back to.

Already planning the next visit.

Cosy cottage with sea view

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little cottage on the hillside overlooking the sea. The cottage was very clean with all you need for a break away from home. Fantastic walks near by, just a shame about the weather. Would definitely recommend this cottage and hopefully will visit again in the near future.

Really comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Despite storm Brian we were cosy and comfortable looking out the window at the stormy seas. Ideally located in Snowdonia national park and lovely walks with the dog (albeit wet and windy ones!) Lovely stay, thankyou.
