Lamb's Knees is a luxury Victorian seaside holiday home, built in 1863 and set within flint walled gardens with off-street parking. Offering enchanting, spacious accommodation, it is perfectly situated less than a five minute walk from the beach, 1 minute to shops & restaurants, 10 minutes walk to the iconic white cliffs, South Downs National Park & Cuckmere Valley. Ideal for families holidaying with grandparents or couples & friends looking for a sophisticated bolt-hole.


Neutral hues, with splashes of colour create a sense of calm and space. Quirky, yet homely, 18th & 19th century furniture in solid elm, oak & copper accentuate the history & curiosity of the house.


Three bedrooms (king-size, double, twin) & Family Bathroom & 2nd Toilet Room

The Master bedroom offers a restful retreat featuring a Simon Horn king-size cherrywood 'Empire' bed with luxurious goose down duvet & crisp white linen, seating area with damson velvet cupid settee, dressing area with bespoke copper clothes rail & cheval mirror. The double bedroom is a particularly sunny, peaceful room with an antique French Empire inlaid mahogany double bed. The twin room is a delightfully cozy room, overlooking the flint walled garden, offering an adult sized White Company bunk bed complete with Hypnos mattresses. Family bathroom with shower overhead & toilet. Second separate toilet. Luxury Arran Aromatics Velvet Isle Hand Wash & Hand Soother are provided in the bathrooms.

Living Space, five rooms (Lounge / Dining Room / Snug / Kitchen/ Toy Room) & Flint Walled Garden

Fabulously cozy 'Snug' with Italian wood burning stove and logs provided, opening onto a brand new oak kitchen fitted with modern appliances. A sophisticated Dining Room with antique oak table under a spectacular chandelier leads into a spacious lounge where you can play one of the many board games supplied or simply relax with your favourite film from our DVD collection. Fully enclosed South-facing flint walled garden provides a fabulous sun trap, cozily sheltered from the sea breeze, where you can hear the waves breaking on the shore.

Lamb's Knees offers a children's paradise with a dedicated in-house playroom occupying the entire 3rd floor of the house accessed via a 'secret' staircase filled with a treasure trove of toys, books & games.

An extensive range of Baby & Toddler equipment is available including: Stokke wooden cot, John Lewis Rocking crib, highchair, bouncer chair, baby gym, baby bath & changing mat, potty, in-built toddler toilet seat, bottle sterilizer, plastic plates & cutlery & disposable bibs. With safety in mind there are stair gates, socket covers, door stops & window restrictors in place.

We have a fabulous childminder available (who looks after our own son), she is fully CRB / DBS checked with professional childcare qualifications & first aid training, but most importantly an absolute natural with children. If you fancy a romantic night out you can be assured your little one is in safe hands.

About Lamb's Knees Holiday Home

I was born & brought up in the North of Scotland, whilst Ian grew up in nearby Brighton where trips to Cuckmere Valley were a family favourite. We both followed careers in science. We now live close to Lamb's Knees Holiday Home as we love the area and we are certain that our guests will too.

Why Lamb's Knees Holiday Home chose World

The location is fantastic: less than 5 mins walk to the beach, 1 min walk to local shops and restaurants and 10 mins walk to the start of the South Downs National Park which includes the Cuckmere Valley and the iconic Seven Sisters White Cliffs. Within a few minutes you can completely get away from it all on one of many tranquil walk on the Downs where you can experience nature at its best! We particularly love Springtime when the fields are full of little lambs happily gamboling, in fact the lambs on their wobbly legs were the inspiration for the name of our Holiday Home 'Lamb's Knees'.

What makes this house unique

The original Victorian design of the house is so quirky and characterful. There is so much space that everyone can find their own little quiet spot. The 'Snug' is a fabulous room, with a wood burning stove, which opens into the kitchen, ideal for chatting & relaxing with the family whilst keeping an eye on cooking dinner.

Children absolutely love the 3rd floor playroom and very quickly scamper up the 'secret' staircase to explore the awaiting treasure. They also love the 'bunk bed room' offering them a safe and cozy private den at the end of the corridor.

By prior arrangement we can offer a childminding service with a fully qualified childminder. She is CRB / DBS checked with first-aid training and looks after our own son. The perfect holiday home for families with young children

Beautiful warm welcoming house, very well equipped, friendly & helpful owner

Lamb’s Knees is a beautiful, comfortable, warm and very well equipped house. Off road parking for 1 car, hairdryer, coffee machine, microwave, playroom, all towels, shampoo/conditioner. Even bread, milk, wine, treats, tea/coffee/sugar left for us, so many little touches that make such a difference to your stay. Food shops & lovely cafe ‘The grumpy chef’ just around the corner from the house was great. Train to Brighton runs regularly, makes it so easy to visit Brighton. Laura even arranged a fab babysitter (my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her company!) for us so we could go to a gig in Brighton. Thank-you so much Laura & Frances!

Spectacular coastal & forest walks in areas of outstanding natural beauty which include iconic views of the Seven Sisters white cliffs & Cuckmere Valley. The final two stages of the South Downs Way are easily accessible from Seaford. The promenade is perfect for little ones toddling or on wobbly bikes or for romantic moonlit walks.

The chocolate box village of Alfriston is 10 mins drive away with several unique shops & many fabulous places for tea & cake. Explore the castle in medieval Lewes (15 mins away). Vibrant Brighton is only 30 mins away via a direct train from Seaford whilst the genteel seaside town of Eastbourne is 20 mins drive.
