Secluded perfection

  • 5 of 5

Back again, Karen met us on arrival to check everything was ok for us, which it was, spotless inside and outside. Asked if we needed anything, very polite and helpful.

Log burner was swiftly set and roaring, very peaceful in the hot tub with just the odd car going down the lane.

Lots of wildlife spotted, owls, herons, woodpeckers, hoped to spot the badgers but unlucky this time.

Pete was great, ringing to ask to come down to check the hot tub, most people would just turn up, he was also really helpful when we had a question about the heating.

The staff are excellent, the surroundings are perfect and peaceful, the lodge is very well kitted out with super comfy furnishings and the beds were amazing.

Little supermarket in town nearby is very well stocked with lots of local produce, meats are great.

I really cant think of anything to improve the place, looking forward to another visit soon.

Tranquil luxury

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a peaceful, relaxing few days away to celebrate my partner's birthday. After weeks of searching for the ideal spot, I came across this little gem and what a find it was!

The cabin is in it's own secluded area of a large manor estate. We were taken aback by how beautiful it was; there was everything you could possibly need and more. Karen, the estate manager met us at the property and gave us the low down on how everything worked. She made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her; we were very touched by the welcome birthday treats and card.

We tried out the log burner (even though it really wasn't cold enough), we spent the next few hours trying to cool down! The hot tub was an added treat, more for me than my partner, although he did have a quick dip.

The bed was huge and very comfortable, we felt rather squashed when we returned home!

I have been to a lot of cabins for short breaks and this by far was the most beautiful and romantic; just couldn't fault it - we will definitely be returning!!

Owner's Response: Dear Alison, thank you so much for your lovely review of our little secret hideaway and we are really happy you had a restful break with your partner and loved the cabin, because the Lodge is a true log cabin made totally out of logs it does stay very cosy and I know what you mean about the log burner, I think when we tested the cabin and log burner when we just opened we ended up sitting in our swimming costumes at the back of the room. Karen tells me that we may host your wedding at The Manor in the future and that would be so exciting for us, (our first) but where ever you chose for your special day we wish you a wonderful happy time and all best wishes for the future. Warmest Regards Karan and Paul (owners), Karen (House Manager)

Great weekend at this lodge

  • 5 of 5

Had a great weekend at this luxury log cabin. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a beautiful private tranquil location. there was a large decking area and a hot tub with views of the large pond and wildlife. there is also a summer house with barbecue and fire pit.

It was so peaceful with beautiful surroundings, and yet not far from Scarborough. Will definitely go back.

Simply perfect

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the large gates and drove up to the lodge, stunning driveway with the large Manorhouse at the end. Turned off the drive and along a private track for the lodge, when we saw the lodge and grounds we were amazed. Cant beleive this was ours for three nights! The lodge looks amazing from the outside, with the pond and summerhouse too its an amazing package. The interior is very well furnished, nothing could be faulted. Hot tub was great to have, shame the weather was so nice as we really wanted to fire the log burner up! Karen was there to greet us, even though we were late, and was excellent, i wish more places had such a welcoming host. The lodge was really clean and equipped, gas bbq was great, hot tub was super clean and we saw squirrels, lots of birds, the Guineafowl, and a fox, great for nature! We cant wait to come back, for longer next time, we had planned to go exploring the local area, but the weather was that nice we just chilled around the lodge and summerhouse for a full day. Super quiet too. Thanks for having us.

A lovely, cosy little lodge in beautiful peaceful surroundings! Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing two night stay in this lovely little lodge! We went as a group of four over the May bank holiday weekend and had such a relaxing and peaceful stay. We couldn't believe how beautiful the surroundings were and it felt as though we were the only people on the estate, you get the entire lake and summer house completely to yourself! Perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

The lodge was in immaculate condition, practically brand new; we had everything we needed down to the last detail, everything had been thought of (even a bottle of milk waiting for us in the fridge, how kind!) The decor is lovely too!

Perfect location for a trip to the seaside, we visited Bridlington, Flamborough and Whitby whilst we stayed there, all just over half an hours drive away.

We received our deposit back extremely quickly as well.

Cannot praise this place enough, would definitely recommend!

A hidden gem in an idyllic setting!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this Log Cabin surpassed our expectations in every way.

The Location near a quiet village on the outskirts of Scarborough is great with good public transport links, a comprehensive village shop, a fish & chip shop and most importantly, 3 public houses! We were warmly greeted by Karen on behalf of the owners, who gave us a mini handover and tour of the Cabin, which included some starter provisions to get us going, a generous and welcome gift after our journey. The Cabin has all the comforts you could require and is beautifully presented throughout. The Kitchen is comprehensive, however the local pubs and nearby garden centre do a wide menu should you not wish to cook. The Hot Tub, although an extra, is in our minds a must and well worth every penny and due to the Cabin's secluded location, very private. We would welcome the opportunity of a repeat visit, for a longer duration. Richard & Cheryl and Andy & Flick.
