From out home, in just 10 minutes by car you can visit : THE CLIFFS ALONG THE PATHS OF ZOLFINA WATER
The cliffs were formed, as it happened in the Bryce Canyon in Utah, from sediments deposited by a 20-km long lake, in Pliocene and Pleistocene, which took over (o occupied) the current Valdarno. Through the centuries, when the lake retreated, its sediments were subject to continuos actions of erosion by the atmospheric agents. These actions gave them fascinating forms called “Balze”.
