If you want to reach me directly do so through our web page. This vacation home is year around rental! Please take time to read our reviews and see what others are saying about us. We receive a lot of request and accept a lot of bookings so book early in advance to get your dates locked in. All 3 of our rentals properties have WiFi and Dish TV for those rainy days. We are excited !! You will love sitting out back on our new deck or in the side yard listening to the water run through the creek. What a beautiful property. You won't want to leave! They say it is all about location, location, location. Well, this has just that. This house was built in 1840 and is in the historic part of down town Wellsboro. If only this house could talk and tell us some stories. We hope you make many great memories here as well. I was told that this house at one time, back in the day, was a carriage stop and also at one time a post office. You can leave your car parked in the driveway and walk down town. We have tried to make it as comfy and homey as possible. We will always be making improvements so come back often to see what is new! The yard is awesome for playing games and just hanging out. Bring your outdoor games as the yard across the bridge is huge!! Our kitchen is beautiful, and well equipped for your "dining in" needs. The dining room is bright and has a table that seats 8 for dining, socializing and games in the evening. There is a beautiful closed in back porch to relax in on rainy nights. A comfortable living room with a smart TV. There is a land line phone with unlimited nationwide calls. We offer a master bedroom on the main floor with a bathroom with shower just off the bedroom and a dressing room/ office. Three other bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom, tub and shower. A very cute front covered porch to sit and enjoy. A spacious side yard with lawn furniture to bask in the sun and a charcoal/ fire pit for your evening hot dog roast. This is a perfect place for couples to gather and spend a weekend together. This is an old house and has a step up to the dining room and step down to the kitchen, living room and foyer etc. The dining room is in the middle of the house so you step up. There is character all over the place in this old house!! It is spacious enough for 4 couples or just the two of you. We also invite families. We do ask that you keep the children away from the canal. No one is allowed to walk on the wall of the canal. Safety first please! Also, if you are into little league world series we are about 45-1 hour away from Williamsport, PA. We offer 2 other cabins in the mountains. Check out our web page.

About Jane Yoder
We are Harold and Jane (Roes) Yoder from Lancaster County, PA. This is our 4rd rental property in the Wellsboro area. It has been on my bucket list to have an 'in town' guest house for years. And here it is !!! We hope you enjoy it and feel right at home. We also hope you come back and bring your friends. Harold and I have 2 sons. Both are married to wonderful ladies. We have 6 grand children whom we adore and love to be with. I (Jane) was born and raised in upstate NY in the small town of Castorland. My husband Harold was raised on a farm in McVaytown PA. We met in ElDorado AR, both working at a nursing home. We were both doing volunteer service. We married in August of 1980. God has blessed us with a great life not exempt from many ups and downs but through it all we can say the Lord Jesus Christ is faithful ! Everything we have is a gift from Him.
Jane Yoder purchased this House in 2015
Why Jane Yoder chose Delmar
Because it is close to Wellsboro PA and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Wellsboro, a town of beauty and culture rich in natural resources and the County Seat of Tioga County, might be set down in any section of New England and find itself in familiar surroundings. The Wellsboro area, home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, offers hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails from flat packed surfaces to rugged mountain terrain. Spend time fishing, swimming and canoeing in one of the many area parks. They’re free in Pennsylvania! Maybe you’d like to try horseback riding or have an off road adventure. It’s time to relax. Spend a few nights or a week or two enjoy fabulous meals at your choice of area restaurants. Stroll the gas lit streets of Wellsboro where you’ll find family owned businesses offering personal attention to your needs. Maybe you’d rather take a scenic train, trolley or go rafting. You’ll find it all here in the Wellsboro area. Looking for a getaway weekend that will rekindle the old fashioned Christmas spirit? Then plan to join us every 1st saturday for the annual Dicken’s of a Christmas. Wellsboro's Main Street and the surrounding side streets will be closed to traffic and will become an early Victorian marketplace featuring all types of delectable wares for eating and drinking, as well as delightful gift items for wearing or enjoying. Come and see us, it’s a short drive from your back yard to ours! Wellsboro has an attractive downtown and an active Chamber of Commerce with over 300 members working together to build a strong community for today and tomorrow. As I said earlier I have always wanted to have a guest house in the town of Wellsboro. Our other 3 cabins are 15 miles north west of Wellsboro. They have been excellent rentals for us with many people coming and going constantly. We love our return costumers and hope you become one as well. Welcome to the Last Lantern Guest House. Make yourselves at home.
What makes this House unique
This property is a perfect location in many ways. What I love most about this house and property is that is has a wonderful stream going through it and the sounds of the stream are awesome. I also love that it is located at the last lantern going out of town...giving it it's name, The Last Lantern Guest House. How perfect. I also love that this guest house could be a place where I could live permanently. I am confident you will feel the same.

Comfortable, well appointed house on the edge of Wellsboro town
We came here from Ireland at the end of August and loved the house and the area. The house is very charming with hardwood floors, a living room, dining room, kitchen, porch and deck and sleeps 8 comfortably. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and everything in the house (TV, wifi, etc.) worked fine and the house was very clean. Wellsboro is an interesting stopping point with a nice town square, a used/new book store with enthusiastic staff and the cafe two doors up from the Last Lantern is good and staff are friendly. Jane, the owner of the Last lantern, was very helpful and responded immediately to my emails. All in all a great place to stay.
Thank you so much for choosing The Last Lantern Guest House and Wellsboro as your vacation stop. We just love having guests as yourselves, all the way from Ireland! Thank you for taking care of everything so well while you were there. We appreciate guest so much that respect our property. Thank you again and please stay in touch.
This home is in a great location. A nice stroll down main street to the shops and restaurants. I love the older homes. This home is beautiful. Plenty of room for a bigger group. It had everything we needed. The owner was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. We will keep this home on our list for our next stay in Wellsboro.
Thank you so much for the great review. We loved having you and hope you do return again real soon.
Stay in touch.
Perfect in every way. Loved it. So clean and spacious, the inside and outside were wonderful!
We love this guest house and will be back many times. It is clean and spacious. The little fire pit is just perfect for a nice cozy fire in the evening. The bedrooms were great and very comfy mattresses. The location is just perfect so close to the West End Market Cafe'. Such a cute little cafe for breakfast and lunch. I say this is better then any B&B due to the fact of the cafe being so close. You can park your car and walk to town. My favorite place to stay in Wellsboro.
Family Memorial Day Vacation
The house was very large with lots of room to spread out. We were intrigued by all the nooks in the old house especially our young granddaughter. The house was clean, eye appealing and very comfortable. The yard was nicely manicured with a very large back yard with plenty of space for young people to run around/play games. The deck went right up against the creek wall which was pleasant for sight and sound. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything that you could possible need. The proximity within the town was perfect, not dead center but close enough to walk to everything. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Thank you so much for the great review. So glad you all enjoyed it. It is funny you mentioned your grand daughter. Ours too is very intrigued by all the nooks in the old house.
We do hope you come again. Stay in touch.
Beautiful, spaceous and way too convenient!
My husband, 14 yr old son and friends (a couple and their 14 yr old son) and I took the Easter weekend to enjoy some time away from it all. We stayed at the Wellsboro guest house and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Jane was so accomodating and informative for all of our questions and requests. It was very easy to work out all of the details with her. The property was more than we had expected from the moment we drove down Main Street and located the guest house. What gorgeous colors! As we unloaded our cars (the driveway accomodated both cars) we enjoyed the sounds of the stream and both boys took a walk around the property. As we entered, they then ran to claim their room (but ended up bunking in the single beds in the same room)! From the moment we entered and discovered the treasures of each room, we were in love with this home. We look forward to many more stays due to the ease of coordinating our stay as well as the ease of being able to walk the few blocks to every need we had. Whether it be dining, shopping, touring, a cup of coffee, eclectic game store or even medicine, we walked each time. This property is so fun for all members of your family, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!! Bring plenty of family - you will not be disappointed!
The Gordons and Beckers
Thanks so much for the awesome review! SO glad you all had a great time and we can't wait to have you back!! Thanks again. Stay in touch!
This was our second time staying for a girls weekend. The house was perfect for the five of us! We were able to sit and visit and relax with no worries. It is right in town, which made going out for dinner or shopping very convenient. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfy! I am hoping our next visit can happen in the fall!
Thank you so much Heather. We love having you ladies. Ladies weekends are always so much fun! We look forward to hearing from you again for your next visit. Book early and stay in touch.
The Last Lantern Guest House is located right in the town of Wellsboro. Staying here gives you the freedom to leave your car in the driveway and walk to many shopping places, crafts stores and restaurants. We highly recommend you walk just 2 doors down and eat breakfast, and lunch at the West End Market Cafe'. The Last Lantern is even better then a B&B as you can have the privacy of your own home and yet have breakfast waiting so close by. There is nothing like taking an evening walk in historic downtown Wellsboro with all it's charm. You will always find your way back home as we are The Last Lantern on the right from the center of town. The Last Lantern is spacious and homey. We hope you enjoy it and come back. Remember we are still in process. March of 2015 is when we purchased The Last Lantern Guest House and my husband has a long "honey do" list.
