My husband and I and 3 adult children spent a week at this chalet in September 2014 as a base for hiking and sightseeing. We couldn’t have picked a better location or nicer accommodations. The chalet is exceedingly clean, attractive and spacious - just as pictured. It has everything you need to be comfortable with Wifi and the washer/dryer nice extras! It was a pleasure dealing with the owners who are honest, friendly, and very helpful. The booking and payment transactions were easy. The chalet is in a quiet, peaceful area and the views from the decks are as stunning as everyone claims. You are lulled by a rushing stream and cow bells –even at night.
The charming village of Wengen has a variety of shops, restaurants and delightful sidewalk cafes – all just a 15 minute walk from the chalet. It’s an easy, lovely path and well lit at night. Don’t be put off by it –it truly adds a nice dimension to your visit and affords you a tranquil retreat at the end of the day. We never needed a taxi or grocery delivery, but they are available.
Hiking trails of all levels (even easy ones!) are everywhere – all with magnificent views. The Swiss transportation system will amaze you and it’s such fun! We traveled to Zermatt one day, but there is so much to explore in Wengen’s backyard – this is a wonderful summer/fall destination.
Do not hesitate to rent this chalet. We highly recommend it. Thank you to the owners for sharing their home and helping us create wonderful memories.

Just back from a great week in Wengen. The resort is a fabulous place to ski with some of the most breathtaking scenary we've experienced (in over 15 years).
The Chalet was ideal for all seven of us to stay in (two families with children). Tim was very helpful prior to our first visit to the area, providing lots of useful information (one tip resulting in us obtaining 15% discount on Ski hire :-).
We found the Chalet spotlessly clean with everything we expected. One small issue was rectified by his local caretaker & assistant within 5 mins of being there, making things really easy.
We enjoyed the walk to and from the village each day which was very pretty, took 15 mins and was far more preferable to my usual commute!
Swiss rail to & from the airport (Zurich) worked like a dream, especially when you can check your luggage all the way through and would highly recommend this option.
Overall, a very memorable week, with great (on slope) food, views, snow, transport and accomodation.
Thanks... Damian, Emma, Tom & Russell, Jackie, Jack & Ellie
My family were there for the summer and enjoyed the chalet. We found it a great base for our walks and hiking. This is a very nice chalet with excellent furnishing and luxurious bathrooms. Generally spacious and well-equipped. The cellar room is especially large and bright and our teenagers spent most of their spare time there.
Views were magnificent. The owners well very helpful and provided lots of valuable information.
We hope to come again.
We has a fantastic holiday in January 2011 at 10 Racers Retreat. It is a very spacious chalet, built to a very high standard. Well furnished with very nice bathrooms and all the services one needs. Views are spectacular and the skiing from the local chair very convenient - we often skied home for lunch. Owners were extremely helpful providing us with all the information we needed and following up afterwards to check that everything met our satisfaction. Thoroughly recommended
An immaculate linked chalet a short walk from the village, but very close to the Innerwengen chair lift which provides on-ski access to the main pistes, avoiding the crowds, via the Kleine Scheidegg cog railway.
The chalet is ideal for four, but the attic bedroom and basement can accommodate more with ease. The modern heating system is very efficient, providing dry laundry overnight. The small kitchen area has been carefully planned and works well.
The owners are a pleasure to deal with and we did not need to trouble the local caretaker with any issues. We would certainly recommend this property and hope to stay again at some time.
The ski area in Wengen is varied enough if staying for a week, but do make the effort (a short bus ride across Grindelwald) to spend one day on the beautiful Oberjoch/Schreckfeld pistes on the other side of the Grindelwald valley.
My family (6 adults) stayed in this chalet in March 2010. The chalet is a brisk 15 minutes walk from the centre of Wengen in a peaceful location, with exceptional views across the valley.
The chalet itself is exactly as described on the website and in top notch condition. The rooms are spacious and airy. The attic bedroom does have a slanted roof but is more than sufficient. Overall the chalet was more spacious than I expected.
The nearest chairlift is a couple of minutes walk away. I had a couple of beginner skiers in my party and they were able to take this chair as foot passengers and then catch the cog railway for their ski lessons at the top of the mountain.
The owner provided all the information we needed to plan the holiday including airline options and suggestions for ski lessons. All queries were answered swiftly and accurately.
My family have a mix of skiing abilities and there was enough variety to keep them all amused.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday. I will be recommending this chalet to my friends.
Wengen is a traditional, charming, traffic-free village with beautiful views of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Monch. It is a dual season resort offering skiing and skating in the winter and hiking and walking in the summer.
The hub of the village is the short main street lined with chalet-style hotels and shops. In the winter, ice skating is a favourite evening activity of the villagers. The Jungfrau lift pass covers all three ski areas: Wengen, Grindelwald and Murren. The summit of Schiltorn, made famous by a James Bond movie, is a highly challenging black run. The longest black race run, the Lauberhorn World-Cup Run is also a tourist favourite. Wengen offers lots of long runs of varied terrain.
The Trummelbach Falls in the valley, are the only glacier falls in Europe inside a mountain accessible to tourists, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Interlaken, a main tourist attraction in the valley, offers luxury shopping, beautiful hotels, fine dining and excursions.
Other Activities: Ice skating, tobogganing, ice hockey, curling.
Ski: The finish line for Wengen's world-famous Lauberhorn ski race in January is 200 metres from the chalet and is an event not be missed. The famous Mary's Cafe is the place to enjoy your gluewein. The Jungfrau ski area comprises Wengen, Murren ( with its James Bond mountaintop revolving restaurant) and Grindelwald, all accessed by cog railways or cable cars from the local Innerwengen ski chair to the Allmend rail stop. At the end of the day, challenge yourself to ski home down the Lauberhorn or relax on the adjacent red run.
