Built in 1899 was of the first half of the century an elite hotel counts among its former tenants and guests the author Louisa May Alcott, who completed 'Little Women' while residing here, and John F. Kennedy launched his first congressional bid from the Bellevue. In the 1950s, a popular TV detective series '21 Beacon' was based on this prestigious address.
