House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bs, (Sleeps 6-8), 3 Bath

Experience a breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina from this mountain home high up on Sugar Mountain. Wake up to the cool, refreshing air at 4700 foot elevation and enjoy a truly year-round retreat with spectacular foliage in the fall, excellent skiing in the winter, and golf, tennis and many outdoor activities in the spring and summer.

This Sugar Mountain home will capture your imagination with its two story stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and spectacular view from the floor to ceiling windows. The over-sized living room along with the kitchen and separate dining area provide a large gathering space for family and friends, and the huge 400 sq. ft. deck is a perfect place to relax and unwind.

The home has 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths, was remodeled in 2008, and is beautifully and comfortably furnished and decorated. Two of the bedrooms contain queen size beds, the third has a twin over full bunk bed with a twin trundle that sleeps 3-4. For your convenience, the house is well-equipped with all the amenities, including WiFi internet access. A Four Wheel drive vehicle is recommended during the winter snow season.

Whether you are looking to ski, hike, shop, or just relax, this is the place. Rain Rain Go Away!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful week of hiking and fishing planned for our family. However, Mother Nature must not have received the memo!

It rained all week! There were a few occasions where the clouds parted and we did see the beautiful view from the deck. And the description is right, it was breathtaking! The rain might have kept us from getting out and enjoying the mountains, but it also forced us to stay inside and relax and catch up on some much needed sleep and family time. The house was well equipped and comfortable for our family. We enjoyed playing cards and watching movies. And, of course, sleeping with the windows open. What a welcome respite from the heat of Eastern North Carolina in August!

The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was a small issue with the electric sockets in the upstairs bathrooms, but we contacted the owner and they quickly got an electrician there to fix it.

Overall, it was a great week, we just wish we could have enjoyed that beautiful view every morning! Guess we'll just have to go back again!

Fabulous view from Sugar Mountain

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for a week at this wonderful mountain retreat. We were looking for a place in the mountains with a view, privacy and elevation. At 4700 feet, the temperature never went above 76 degrees during the day, in mid August. The view of the mountains from the spacious deck, and particularly from the private balcony outside the master bedroom, was fabulous. A perfect place to beat the heat! We enjoyed dining on the deck at the picnic table every single night. The location was great - close to grocery stores, dining, shopping, and a fairly short drive to Banner Elk, Linville, Beech Mountain and Blowing Rock. We will definitely come back again.

Quiet and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

The house was really nice. We loved the deck with its adirondacks and fantastic view. The kitchen was spacious with lots of pots and pans. The living room was large enough for all six of us to relax and spend time together. It was extremely quiet and relaxing. The only negative was the lack of air conditioning and fans. We opened all of the windows and the balcony door in the master bedroom, and still I was sweating at night. It was fine during the day, and one of the bedrooms did indeed have a fan, but our room was just too hot for someone who likes to be cool at night. Given this knowledge, I still would have stayed in the house, but I would have brought my own fan if I had known that the master bedroom didn't have one.

Beautiful mountain get away

  • 5 of 5

We had a girls week end March 4-6, 2016 and we all had a lovely, relaxing time. The house is spacious, very clean and comfortable, The kitchen had everything we needed and was stocked with the basics like coffee filters and dish soap. The fireplace in the living room was perfect. The views from the living room and master bedroom were breathtaking. All 3 bathrooms were immaculate and were furnished with towels and toilet paper. The house is so close to skiing, shopping and a great restraint called Bella's. We had an awesome time and hope to go back in the summer!

Great property owners

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nice, and clean, and had many nice amenities especially the view. They driveway was steep so 4 wheel drive is a must in snowy conditions. What I was especially impressed with was the customer service from the owners. They were outstanding and went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We have stayed at many VRBO properties over the years inside the US and outside. These are great owners. Thank you Anne for all that you did for us!
