Kilkee ‘The Setting’
Kilkee is one of Ireland’s leading holiday centres. A charming seaside town on the Western Coast of County Clare, it retains its 19th Century Victorian ambiance, yet has all the modern facilities to make your holiday a memorable one. Kilkee overlooks the mile-long horseshoe bay, with a gently sloping safe and sandy beach that is protected from the Atlantic weather by the Duggerna Reef which stretches across the mouth of the bay. Kilkee’s golden sandy beach, with it’s Blue Flag status, makes it the safest beach on the West Coast of Ireland.
Another choice for swimmers would be the famous Pollock Holes; which the water changes in every tide.
Kilkee has played host to tourists for the past 200 years. Known as the gateway to the Loophead Peninsula, Kilkee is one of the main tourist centres and caters for all members of the family.
Kilkee features a challenging 18-hole cliff top links course laid out in an idyllic setting with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Other world famous courses in the region such as Kilrush, Lahinch, Woodstock in Ennis and the fabulous new Doonbeg Golf Course are within a short drive, while the Killimer Car Ferry brings the Kerry Championship courses of Ballybunion, Tralee and Killarney within easy reach.
For indoor swimming there is the Waterworld with a range of facilities including bubble pool, shower geysers, lazy river ride and a 61m crystal tower slide. For full details on Waterworld and the up to date rates visit http://www.kilkeewaterworld.ie/.
