About Claudia Cadoni
Venice is my favorite town, the city where I've been living since a cold and drizzly November 1970, when I arrived as a newbie student at Ca 'Foscari University. So I came to know Venice from many different times and points of view, starting with the poor and crumbling city of those wonderful years until the prosperous and crowded town of today. I've been in love with the lagoon city since that cold November, I have also forgotten how to drive a car and how to walk in normal cities with bikes and cars, as the Venetians DOC have. I love architecture and urban planning: I like the way Venetians walk around, it matches my nature, I think it helps to capture the details of the surroundings The museums come afterwards, as the exhibits, unless they are themselves the reason for the trip. I always read a lot, especially essays on history and philosophy, I speak English badly , a soundtrack to a life of favorite music melodies, also in spite of myself, I don’t speak French very well though it was the first foreign language learned at school. It helped me to follow the French chansonniers. I have too many hobbies and very little time: reading, as I said , photography, gardening, cooking: in particular canning and home baking are my favorite activities can . This proven by looking at the crowded shelves of the library of cookbooks and related texts in Italian, French, English. I have a great passion for animals: cats, dogs, companions of life for many years, and most of Noah's Ark that lives wild, mosquitoes excluded.d At present time, myself and my husband, enjoy and live with two small very comic Boston Terriers : Papo and Titina. They are the protagonists of countless foto shoots and videos taken from tourists that we meet in our walks around Venice. You will be welcome if you want to wander around the city with me and our dogs. Other passions: music and cinema.
Claudia Cadoni purchased this Apartment in 2000
Why Claudia Cadoni chose Venice-Murano-Burano
We bought this apartment, my husband and I, through our society, mainly to have more space not far from our home, a space suitable for being used for working or studying in peace or to host our friends. The research has been long and laborious, but at the end we found this small apartment with lovely views, sunny in the morning and bright in the afternoon, a few steps from Piazza San Marco and from Museum Correr's porch. We decided to rent it out incited by Venetian friends and guests and from the beginning it has been an occupation very seriously taken but with great fun and passion as well, My mission was produced by the love that binds me to this city of adoption, where I live since 1970; it's difficult to organize a stay here by those who do not know its mechanisms and characteristics, so it's has been a charming idea to be a host who cares to share all her experience with the visitors, that often are there for very short time, a limit compared to the wealth of possibilities of the city and its islands. So I rented from our company this property and manage it completely, taking care of everything and cleaning the apartment as well, sometimes with the help of a person who gives me a hand, but always under my supervision on every detail, so that everything is perfect and immaculate.
What makes this Apartment unique
At first sight I have felt in love with the view from the windows and the surprise to come down and be in the midst of beautiful monuments of great beauty, especially (and it always amazes me) to get into St. Mark's Square from the Correr Museum, with the development of the square and the Basilica in front. And the sun and the airiness of that aparment, its light, the sky in the evening or at night with the moon behind the bell tower of St. Mark. From one of the windows you can see an "altana", the typical Venetian terrace on the roofs, the glimpse of the Campanile of San Marco is beautiful and almost from the front of the kitchen window, which opens onto the street of Bocca di Piazza, with view of the Museum Correr and of the statues that decorate his upper frieze. I also loved the nice views of the terraces of the other buildings, trimmed of plants and flowers, and lowering a little the look you see balconies-jewels, all adorned with beautiful plants, often in bloom. That's why, visiting this house for buying it, I immediately phoned my husband, asking him to come in Venice from our office, about fifty km. from Venice.

We loved staying here! It was so close to St. Marks Basilica and plenty of great food options. Claudia & her husband are so pleasant and gave us great recommendations and were so warm and welcoming. They showed us how everything in the apartment worked and made them selves available for questions. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Thank you so much, Reed, it has been a pleasure to host you!
I hope to see you again.
Kind regards by my husband and me.
The property was what we expected due to the accurate description given on the internet.
Claudia was very helpful throughout our stay and her very kind husband helped us with our luggage upon arrival. Together they met us at the ferry terminal and helped us find our way to their comfortable apartment. They then told us about Venice and how to use the public transport and enjoy the all the wonderful attractions.
Thank you Elizabeth for your kind words. I think that you made a great mistake on stars.
I hope it would be possible to correct.
Perfect location for a few days in Venice.
This little studio apartment is just a stone’s throw from the Piazza San Marco, so after hours of sightseeing you can easily come home and put your feet up before setting out again for the evening. The bed was very comfortable, and the hot bath tub a real treat at the end of the day. And, best of all, our hostess Claudia went far beyond expectations to see that we were comfortable, providing books, maps, CDs, and tips. .Thank you so much, Claudia!
We visited in February, which I highly recommend: it was cool, but not uncomfortable, and the crowds were minimal. I also recommend the little pizzeria/cafe just outside the portico. The food was delicious and quite affordable.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for the advice of the little bar outside the porch!
I do hope to see you again, kind regards
Perfect Stay and Host!
The apartment was perfect. Great location. Our host, Claudia was so helpful. Starting with easy directions to the apartment, offering to meet us at any time to get the key and get settled, great suggestions for restaurants and shopping. She responded immediately to our every need and question. I have never used HomeAway before, but I will again for sure! Claudia was the best.
Thank you again, Cathy, for these kind words and for having been so communicative: it's a real pleasure and easy to be (I hope) a good host when a guest can use internet and expresses all the needs and questions as you did.
You have been a perfect guest and other Homeaway hosts would be lucky to host you, as I have been.
I hope you'll come back, you will always be welcome!
Claudia, our host, was wonderful. She communicated well in advance with things we wanted/needed to know. She sent a great map of how to get to her place, which if you've been in Venice with all it's tiny, confusing streets, was perfect. The room is clean and cheerful and well supplied with more than you will probably need. Claudia even made some Tangerine marmalade for us and left it at the front door. We would definitely rent from her again!
Dear David, I have been so glad to have met you, thank you so much for your kind words and for having been such a perfect guest, I hope you'll come back in Venice (for a spritz together, of course :))
Best whishes to you all
Cute studio apartment well appointed for all needs and EXCELLENT locale near St Marks & pub-transit!
Claudia the owner couldn’t have been more hospitable and helpful. She’s extremely proud of her city and it shows. She answered all my questions very quickly going above and beyond what a landlord needs to do. She and her husband met me at the San Marco water stop and guided me to the apt. (About a 3 min walk) & helped with my bags. Studio apt is perfect for solo or couples traveling. It’s completely furnished and the kitchen is stocked with all necessities just minus the groceries! It’s on the 3rd floor with steep steps so be warned if that’s an issue for you. I highly recommend this rental and hope to return some day. Ciao!
Thank you so much Samantha for this detailed review, yes, you're right, I do love this city and the sense of my hospitality is to share its beauty with my guests helping them to know how to arrive, at first and then, got off the luggage, to stay, go around, experience the sights, understanting how transports works and other little tips.
I hope you'll come again.
St. Mark’s district is right in the center of Venice, from there one can move swiftly to all directions, walking or by public or private boats. Including the visit to the islands. Two or three lines of Alilaguna's shuttle water buses's stops are at 150 m. and urban public water bus stops as well.
The most famous monuments are immediately next to the apartment, such as St. Mark’s square. One can just go downstairs and walk around the corner to enjoy early morning with the sun rising from the east and gradually illuminating the splendid architecture of the square while waiters of the historic caffes rearrange the tables that will host early visitors. In rush hours there are many ways to find a quick escape from the crowd to less frequented areas. On bad weather days one may visit, just around the corner, the Correr Museum, as far as as the Doge's Palace and also St. Mark’s Church. In close vicinity one can find many extraordinary churches such as San Moisé. Nearby and overlooking the Canal Grande are luxury hotel headquarters with terraces where one can enjoy an aperitif and the Chiesa della Salute seems to be so close that one could touch it. The apartment is about a two minute walk to famous Arrigo Cipriani’s Harry's Bar Also one can take a look at Hotel Gritti to be reminded of Venice’s most celebrated guest, Ernest Hemingway. What about a stop at the Royal Little Gardens where one can sit on a bench and relax for a while? The most sophisticated shopping is nearby: jewelers, boutiques and art galleries. The prestigious La Fenice Theater is only about a couple hundred meters from the apartment. One can also easy get to a selection of quality wineries, small bars with good sandwiches, taverns and small restaurants and pizzerias for all budgets. The tourist office and a point of first aid are strategically situated in St. Mark’s square. A supermarket is located at the former cinema Rossini and offers a large selection of food, wines and spirits and also products for the house and for personal hygiene. There’ a pharmacy in Frezzeria, at 50 meters from the apartment and a post office in Ascension, a little square about 30 meters away.
