A little gem of a cottage.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is wonderful with lots of character. It was extremely comfortable and the open planned downstairs was great for socialising.

We went for a fantastic 5 hour walk from the cottage across rolling countryside and returned to a warm and cozy cottage from the underfloor heating.

Sally and her mum were very friendly and the scones with home made jam on arrival were delicious.

We highly recommend a stay at Mintridge.

Very comfortable and well equipped property.

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a really comfortable and relaxing weekend in a beautiful location. The house was well equipped and warm (underfloor heating worked a treat), with comfy beds and fluffy towels. Nice welcome from Sally with advice on the local area. Good walking nearby and plenty of interesting places to potter about in. A little hard to find if you arrive in the dark - trust your sat nav!

Comfortable very well equipped cottage. Highly recommend for a relaxing break in the countryside

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Coach House even though the weather was rather challenging! Beautiful home made scones and raspberry jam..thank you Eileen. Sally was very helpful with advice on places to visit and our dog loved playing with the other dogs. Very clean throughout, beds comfy and plenty of fluffy towels. There's plenty to see and do in the area (even when it's raining!). Have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Coach House to all who love the countryside and need to recharge their batteries.

About James Barrett

The Coach House forms part of Mintridge, a working family farm which Richard and Sally Barrett have owned since 1997. Mintridge Farmhouse is an attractive period Grade II Listed house, with origins dating from the 1600s. Since owning the farm, Sally and Richard have converted two barns into luxury holiday accommodation: The Oast House and The Coach House. Sally and her mother, Eileen (who lives in the farmhouse) are based on the farm everyday. Sally would be happy to show all of our guests around the working farm, something which proves especially popular with younger guests! We have Limousin cows, Charollais sheep and horses. Sally's mother, Eileen, is also well known for her baking of fresh scones with homemade raspberry jam for guests on arrival!

James Barrett purchased this barn in 1997

What makes this barn unique

Rolling hills of Herefordshire; Traditional Country Public Houses; Local Ale & Local Produce; Dog Walking.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed in the Coach House with the four of us (family with two kids age five and seven). We had a lovely time! Loads to do in the surrounding areas but also a lovely place for staying 'at home!' The cottage is comfortable with everything you might need and is at the same time 'kid-proof!' The kids loved all the animals and roaming around. The garden has a lovely terrace for eating outside and enough space for simultaneous sunbathing/reading and playing football. Definitely recommendable!
