Converted stable on a country estate
Set in a beautiful Victorian private country estate of 350 acres of farmland, parkland and woodland on the Dorset/Devon border, the house is situated in a courtyard terrace and was once part of the stable block of the Home Farm near to the main mansion. Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break - stroll along tree lined walks, take the path down to the estate's private beach or discover the South West Coastal foot path which runs through the grounds. Perfect for 4 -legged friends too! The Rousdon Estate is a 5 minute drive from Lyme Regis (home to the famous Cobb and some lovely beaches) and only 10 minutes from Axminster where the River Cottage Canteen can be found. In fact, it's a perfect spot for exploring all along the Jurassic coast - from looking for fossils at Charmouth and visiting the Swannery at Abbotsbury to the quietly dignified Regency town of Sidmouth and quaint fishing village of Beer.
The house itself offers all home comforts and is equipped to a very high standard. With four bedrooms (1 king, 2 doubles and a bunk room for 2) there is an additional day bed on the mezzanine floor and a double sofa bed in the living room. Two en-suite shower rooms, a family bathroom with bath and a downstairs cloakroom ensure you can be up and out quickly to enjoy your day. Outside there is a 50 foot garden lined with shrubs affording a great deal of privacy and a terrace for al fresco dining and barbecuing.
As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to find somewhere suitable and welcoming for faithful companions and dogs are welcome at Home Farm North. Doggy duvet beds, water and food bowls, towels, blankets and even toys are provided and the garden has been dog-proofed.
A welcome hamper is provided on arrival filled with some local goodies and basic grocery items.

I lived here for many years and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was only when a retired racing greyhound adopted me that I decided I needed my own field for him to run free in complete safety. I now live in Cornwall on an old farm dividing my time between my gorgeous hound, my poly tunnel and my hand pulled screen printing business - as well as ensuring Home Farm North meets the exacting standards of discerning travellers!
Gill purchased this House in 2004
Why Gill chose Combpyne Rousdon
The house is a Tardis from the outside; it looks quite small. But when you walk through the front door and into the living room, you'll see the triple height ceiling stretching up into the eaves and the glorious light coming through the windows all along the back wall. The house is open and airy and has such a feeling of space. The history of the house, once a stable/carriage block, is evident through its' architecture. The long and enclosed garden to the rear affords a great deal of privacy and peace.

Great size, facilities, and location. Owner really friendly and flexible. Dogs love the estate, try Rousdon Bakery.
Thank you for your review. Glad you (and the dogs) enjoyed your stay. I look forward to seeing you again.
Lovely property in a beautiful location
We all enjoyed our stay at 3 Home Farm. The property was warm and welcoming. We were surprised and delighted to find the welcome hamper. The contents were thoroughly enjoyed by all. I don't think I have stayed anywhere as well equipped as 3 Home Farm. We could easily have self catered with everything to hand.
We liked the grounds of the estate. We walked down towards the sea and round to the rest of the estate. Thank you.
Very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the positive feedback. Hope to welcome you again.
Beautiful location and so well equipped
Beautiful location, lovely weekend enjoyed by adults, small children and four-legged friends alike. The kitchen is so incredibly well equipped, making the weekend that bit easier and the hamper was delightful. Great house, we will definitely be back.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am so pleased you all enjoyed your stay.
Fantastic house. Great location.
Wonderful house on a gorgeous estate with Manor House. The luxury hamper on arrival so was amazing. So dog friendly and lovely walks with dogs, children and grandparents. Only 5 minutes from lyme Regis. We will definitely be visiting again.
Glad you enjoyed your stay!
We spent a wonderfully comfortable family week here and found the house absolutely perfect. The generous welcome pack was a great start and kept us going all week. The layout of the house was just right and the mezzanine office was gave us a splendid area to get on with a family project safely away from the baby. Great walking, lovely beaches, ice creams and happy times.
Beautiful and spacious house
We had a really lovely stay at 3 Home Farm North which is located in a very special private estate with heavenly walks and stunning private beach. We spent most of our time at the beach as we had good weather but super location for the holidays with lots of fun outings nearby. Hugely recommend this accommodation and the owner has been great to deal with.
Thank you for taking the time to review your holiday stay. I'm pleased that you enjoyed your time here and at the beach and I hope to welcome you again!
The Rousdon Estate is situated above the Undercliff along the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Over 250 acres of parkland and grazing around the majestic mansion house, once the home of the Peek family (tea and biscuits). Former farm and estate workers cottages abound, and Home Farm was the original farm for the estate featuring a stable and carriage block, a forge, a woodworking shop, animal housing and a farmhouse, now all converted. Visit Lyme Regis for the famous Cobb (French Lieutentant's Woman), Honiton for antique shops, Sidmouth for a lovely Regency town, Seaton for its' tramway, Axmouth for its' marina and the beautiful villages of Beer and Branscombe.
