About Mrs Sonia
Hallo everyone! My name is SONIA and I am from Lucca. I run my Lucca Holiday Rentals company that offers exceptional apartments in the heart of Lucca. My goal is to help you fall in love with Lucca – to discover, explore, taste and savor new sights and experiences in this incredible city. My company began almost 10 years ago when I started to rent my family villa after my parents moved to the mountains when they got retired. I spent there my entire childhood and I grew up there in deep contact with the nature and the history. My father thaught me everything about the birds and the antique trees and flowers of the villa and the smell of the sizzling pans used to wake me up each Sunday morning after my mum started to cook! I was fascinated by her when she was telling me the history of the villa in the past century. I thought this kind of feelings are too precious to let them go so then I had the idea to share my love of Lucca and “la dolce Vita” by finding beautiful apartments , villas and farmhouses in my favorite Lucca neighborhoods among my family members properties. Lucca Holiday Rentals started out as a boutique family company and now there are over 15 people working together. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team who will assist you every step of the way, from your first enquiry to your arrival in Lucca.

Fabulous stay near Lucca
Had a great stay t this property from the 1st of June until the 8th. It is approximatley 25 mins from Pisa Airport and was an easy drive in the car we rented.
We were met by Danilio, his wife and daughters upon our arrival. We were welcomed warmly, served coffee and shown around the apartment.
The apartment itself was clean and beautifully presented. They were able to provide us with a travel cot and bedding for our 8 month old son which was great.
A highchair was also provided but required a little adaption as it wasn't really that safe for our son...(nothing between his legs to stop him sliding out the bottom)
We would say that the apartment is child friendly, although probably more suited to older children. Our son is currently crawling and pulling himself up on everything, which meant we spent a lot of time moving all of the apartments decorations out of his reach. The rough tiled floor also grated on his knees and the tops of his feet so we had to make sure he was always wearing trousers and socks when indoors to protect him. I wouldn't want these comments to detract others from going as the apartment is beautiful, it just perhaps doesn't suit families with young babies. The garden on the other hand was great and our son crawled around it to his hearts content on several afternoons.
The apartment is perfectly suited for visits to Lucca and we walked there almost everyday of our trip. It is a straight 2km walk alongside the aqueduct and took us about 30mins each was....this was with a buggy.
Danilo and his family were the perfect hosts, checking in on us and offering to help with anything we needed. On our last morning we were treated to a breakfast of toast, pastries, tea and coffee out in the garden and gifted a bottle of their own Olive Oil.
Would totally recommend this place to anyone.
Great apartment in lovely location
The apartment is in a great location with an easy walk into Lucca or into the hills along the aqueduct. The apartment is spacious and very clean and the hot tub is amazing. Danilo was great very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we arrived in Lucca early, so as we couldn’t access the apartment until the cleaners had finished, he met us at the station to collect our bags so we could have a wander around Lucca and not have to carry them. He also made us a lovely breakfast on our last morning, which was served in the garden. He’s there when you need him but otherwise we didn’t see him so you get a sense of privacy. The only suggestions I would have and they are very minor, would be to put hand soap by the sinks and a coffee machine would be good. I would definitely recommend the apartment and would stay there again. Thanks for everything Danilo and I’m still upset we couldn’t take the fabulous olive oil!
Honeymoon in Tuscany
We have been lucky to stay at Danilo’s apartment for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The property is very romantic and comfortable. The jacuzzi is also a fantastic treat to relax! We walked every day along the amazing aqueduct in both directions. We really recommend a beautiful restaurant nearby called Micheloni, a 25 minute walk. In Lucca the walk along the city wall is also a must. Our favourite cafe to sit and people watch with a vino bianco is Bar S.Michele!
Danilo, his wife and daughter are perfect hosts and have been so kind to us. Picking us up and taking us back to the railway station was so helpful.
And on our final day, he made us a romantic breakfast in the garden which was the perfect end to our honeymoon.
I recommend that everyone comes here as you’ll have the best time!
Beautiful apartment and wonderful hosts
My husband and I recently stayed for a week at this beautiful location. It served as a great jumping off point to visit places like Cinque terra, Carrera, and Florence. But with each day trip, coming home to this magnificent apartment was something to look forward to! We also spent a couple of days exploring Lucca and spending time in the beautiful garden and walking along the aqueduct.
The hosts, Danilo and Grazia we’re terrific. Others have noted the lovely breakfast they prepared and the gift of wonderful olive oil specially wrapped and sealed with their logo. In addition to providing great recommendations and making reservations for us, Danilo and Grazia went out of their way t help us with a special problem. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
We look forward to a return visits one day!
A Perfectly lovely apartment to spend a week or more!
My husband and I spent our favorite week in Italy in this wonderful apartment. The apartment is located above Danilo's family home. The entire family is fantastically helpful, and accommodating. We didn't want for anything.
From this fantastic location we went on many walks and hikes, checked out Lucca, went for a day in Cinque Terre, quick side trip to Pisa, did a hike around Calci and lunched nearby at a great restaurant named Il Conventino. (Check out the wild boar pasta). Our favorite day was hiking up the aqueduct, lunching in Vorno, and making our way back home on some trails and streets (very useful is: openstreetmaps.org). There are so very many local walks and hikes it is amazing.
The apartment itself is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, not for gourmet cooking , but for breakfasts and take out pizza dinners fantastic! The living room was very comfortable and inviting. The bedroom was perfect for our one week stay. There are 2 showers - one by the jacuzzi. And 2 bathrooms. The jacuzzi was well maintained and very nice to relax in.
We stayed here in early November and had to use the heat every once in a while. It kept us nice and cozy. The views out the bedroom window is just perfect.
I can't say enough great things about Danilo and his family. One night we were surprised by his daughter carrying a tray with 2 bowls of gelato up to us as a friends gelato shop had closed for the winter. It was delicious!!
I would definitely recommend having a car for this location as it is a drive to most anywhere. Driving here was easy, we rented a car in Florence, it really helped to have our phone GPS and a designated navigator to help with the foreign language issues we had. There is a great parking spot out in front of the apartment.
Can't recommend this apartment enough. You won't be sorry and you may even leave with some great olive oil if you are lucky.
Perfect location, lovely hosts, great view and well equipped space.
Walking along the aqueduct out our back door and directly in to Lucca was a great experience. Thoughtful efforts by the hosts to make the whole stay a memorable experience. The perfect place for a great Lucca experience.
