Steve and Louise
About Steve and Louise
We bought this farm in 2010 and finished building our first vacation rental September 2013. We have enjoyed welcoming guests so much that we decided to build a second rental in 2015! Having a farm with a vacation rental has long been a dream of ours. We have a small herd of French Alpine dairy goats and plenty of chickens at our home on the other side of the property.
Why Steve and Louise chose Asheville
I have lived in Asheville since 1992 (except a 5 year stint in Seattle for school). I never get tired of this place. This small city has so much to offer. It is always changing and morphing which suits our family perfectly! As far as this property goes, we found it after a 5 year hunt for the right piece of land. It is a large parcel of land incredibly close to everything...not something that is easily found around here (hence the 5 year search). I love living in this area, and I think you will love staying here too!
What makes this House unique
This property is unique because you have access to beautiful spaces indoors and out. You also have access to woods and meadows, trees and views. It just depends where you decide to spend your time while you are here. This house is also unique because it is situated on a farm, yet it so close to downtown Asheville and Biltmore Village. There are very few properties that can boast this fact. Most larger tracts are much further away or on steep land. This land is rolling and great for exploring. Also, our land virtually backs up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway land. The car entrance to the Parkway is only about 2 miles away and is the entrance where the Folk Art Center is. This is a great place to visit while you are here. There are hiking trails both on the Parkway and at Warren Wilson College, which is only a few short miles away. We also have some short trails here on the property.

This property is extraordinary! The house is beautiful and the breathtaking views are amazing. Steve & Louise were so helpful with necessary information prior to our trip and followed up with every question asked. The house was very well stocked with paper products, firewood, linens, cooking utensils and glassware. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this property!
This was one of the best cabins we have rented, and we have been renting them through VRBO for several years. It was very well equipped, very clean and nicely decorated. It is also close to grocery store, and restaurants. Only minutes from downtown and Biltmore. Definitely will rent again, but like to stay for ai week next time. Steve and Louise are wonderful property owners. They even had the fireplace ready the first night! So very welcoming!!!
Beautiful home with amazing views
This house was beautiful and perfect for a lovely week for our family in Asheville. It is in an excellent location- a quick drive to downtown, the Biltmore and hiking trails in the area. The owners were very easy to work with and their home had all the amenities you would need. We loved the fireplace in the living room! We would definitely return!
The location is close to all the attractions. My car is a little sports car not front wheel drive, I have a hard time getting up the hill several times. A front wheel drive vehicle I would recommend, it is a gravel driveway and I think in the rain would be hard without one. Overall it is well stocked with everything you would need. The views are amazing off the back porch. I would stay here a again. The owners are very nice to work with and they left us a dozen eggs from there chickens which was so sweet, loved the fresh eggs.
This property is located within 10 minutes of the HEART of downtown Asheville, yet is on the edge of a 40 acre property and a few short minutes from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The setting is rural, but not remote. The house itself is in a clear wooded area that has views and gets plenty of light. It feels quite private.
