Enjoy your Parisian vacation in this original palace of the 30's ( the former Grand Hôtel de Paris, now Résidence Madeleine Opéra). Secured with the 24hours concierge, the building has a luxury and comfortable lounge with a magnificent dome made of crystal Lalique, as you can find in the most prestigious hotel. Inside the recently renovated studio, you will enjoy all the comfort you need and a spacious and contemporary atmosphere : fully furnished kitchen, spacious bathroom with a large shower, wifi internet access, comfortable double bed. 1st floor ( actually 2d floor of the building), with a lift.
This place is ideally located, the unique Place Vendôme with its famous jewellers, the Opera Garnier and Café de la Paix, the Concorde with the Tuileries Garden and le Louvre, the luxury shops of the Faubourg Saint Honoré or the main Parisian Department Stores…are all just around the corner.
The location is great. Breakfast out the main door to the left. A small grocery across the street to the right. Restaurants all around. The metro and RER A entry is close by. We took both around the city including to Disney Paris. On an ambitious day we even walked to Notre Dame.
This flat is in a charming converted hotel. The exterior façade was being remodeled during our stay but one can easily see that in its prime the place was lovely. After our initial arrival, it was always a coin flip – grand stairs or elevator.
The flat was organized nicely but know if renting here that this is not an apartment set aside solely for rental purposes. The owner’s personal belongings could be found throughout the flat, i.e., shampoos, soaps, clothing, etc. There were towels set out but they were not dry. The pillows are flat and could stand replacing; the bedsheets could use replacing as well.
There is an adequate kitchenette with a college fridge. There is a small table for a couple. The balcony was great to sit on and people watch or enjoy a glass of wine. There is a washer in the flat but not a dryer; there is a drying rack.
We would recommend this flat for location alone, the amenities are adequate. A good value.
Clean and comfortable, walking distance to many cafes, shopping and very close to metro. Nice size apartment, terrific little balcony for people watching. Sophie was very easy to work with. Easy check in and check out. The only complaint I would make is the pillows and towels could use replacing.
Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend and would stay there again should I ever return to Paris.
wonderful budget opportunity for traveler's. great location within easy walking distance to the metro and many paris sites. an easy stroll along the seine to the latin quarter as well as along the champs elysee. the studio is small but comfortable with everything you need, plus grocery stores and restaurants convenient to the apartment. not quite as luxurious as the photo's suggest but you won't be disappointed either. sophie is considerate and easy to work with. Thank you!
The building is run down, but one can easily see that in it's prime the place was lovely. The lobby area has been spruced and looked quite nice, the stairs and upper common areas could use some TLC to make them more attractive. The flat itself is in great condition. Everything was clean and in order, the little balcony was fun for city viewing and the space was comfortable for our family of three. My teen daughter was comfortable on the fold out sofa bed and the other bed was comfortable. The pillows were a little flat but big enough to fold over so it wasn't a problem. The location is very convenient. There was noise but Paris is a busy city, if you are looking for quiet you'd have to go to the outskirts, if you want a good central location like this flat you will have some noise. Especially if the World Cup is happening, it led to all kinds of honking and hooting and hollering going on in the streets! Sophie was very helpful with questions prior to our stay and took the time to check in with us via e-mail once we were there. I recommend this VRBO property to those that are looking for a great value and location.
Studio loft is in an old Hotel Building and still has a concierge; which was helpful with questions. Construction was going on inside the building so the entrance was messy and housed a cat. The room was as described and as the pictures show. It was a little snug for the 4 of us but there was also laundry drying on racks still. The double bed was pretty comfortable but the pull out sofa bed was not. Very clean and the bathroom was a good sized. The loft was in an Excellent location, only about a 5-10 minute walk to the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens, Place de Coronado, shopping and much more! Many nice restaurants (Chez Clement) and metros (Madeleine & Opera) in walking distance to choose from as well. A major drawback for us was there were a few night clubs and a lot of night-owls in the area. Walls were pretty thin as we could hear everything the neighbors were doing and even the people on the streets at 3:00 a.m. (From just talking to screaming) For those seeking a night life this is definitely the area for you. The manager was exceptional in answering any questions we had prior to our arrival and making our arrival as seamless as possible. Sophie was wonderful!
