Spacious, air-conditioned apartment with stunning terrace where you hear the waves against the shore and look out over the Mediterranean and Calblanque nature reserve. A few minutes' walk to the beach with a swimming pool within the small complex. Walking distance to the many restaurants & bars around the charming fishing port of Cabo de Palos with excellent snorkeling and diving close by. Only 10 minutes from the La Manga Club (golf & tennis), 5 minutes to the watersports of the Mar Menor and other golf courses a short drive away. Supermarkets and a go-karting centre are a few minutes by car. The maritime historic city of Cartagena (with a beautiful port, sophisticated shops and superstores) is a 15-minute drive away. Murcia city (with cathedrals and palaces) is 45 minutes away and Murcia (San Javier) airport is 25 minutes' drive. The apartment is air conditioned/heated, has a modern fitted kitchen, TV/DVD/CD, utility room with washing machine, sofa-bed in lounge & own parking.

Smoking is only permitted on the terrace. The direct way to the pool and for beach access is down a number of steps. Visitors with very small children or the infirm have typically taken their car on a 2 minute drive to avoid the steps. We have a gas barbeque on the terrace for guests to use. Our apartment has underground parking (for one car) or you can park on the small road leading up to the building.

Large apartment in quiet area

A nice large holiday apartment with a huge balcony and great sea views. Well looked after by the local property agent who was very helpful when we arrived and on one occasion when something went wrong ( the pool pump broke).

There is a nice beach within walking distance which has sunbeds and shades and pedaloes etc to hire. There is also a bar at the beach although it did not offer food.

Cabo de Palos is quite a walk away but not too bad for young legs. It is very much oriented towards diving trips and as you sit at a waterside restaurant in the evening you see boat after boat coming back with young divers. It is not a place for bingo and karaoke! I dare say there is some of that on the nearby "strip" - the 21km peninsula of La Manga - but we did not explore that much.

As in many places in England there are no local shops; just supermarkets. We found the nearest one, Spar, very good.

My wife and I found the bedroom overlooking the balcony up to the usual standard. The back bedroom, though, is not; the only furniture in it is a couple of divans; it does look very bare! The fitted wardrobes are all very spacious and include rather unusual very high clothes racks on springs pulled down by poles; rather hard to use.

There is a TV and DVD player and a small collection of DVDs. We enjoyed these, although some failed either due to the age of the equipment ( the TV is old and buzzes a bit) or the discs. There is also a couple of sun beds on the patio. It could need more if the party was larger. There is a very big fridge with a freezer and the kitchen is all you would want.

Altogether a very good choice for watersport enthusiasts.

Perfect place, a nice and big apartment with wonderful views from the spacious terrace. Good place for diving and for bike rides in Carblanque Natural Park just infront of the apartment.

Also very important, the owners and people who takes care of the apartment are very nice and efficient, made things very easy, that it is greatly appreciated when you are on vacation. I am sure that we will turn back soon.

The perfect break

When we arrived at the apartment we were immediately impressed by the amazing view from the huge terrace. The sun was going down & there was a wonderful feeling of peacefulness as you could hear the waves lapping on the shore.

The apartment itself is welcoming & spacious - perfect for a family or couple.

We spent a great half-term week here with our two daughters. They particularly enjoyed the local market on Sunday morning & shopping in the amazing mall just outside Cartagena. Tried out a few of the fish & seafood restaurants in Cabo de Palos harbour (the paella at La Tana was particularly tasty). They serve really good fresh food and it's lovely to watch the boats come in while sipping your sundowner! Very relaxing.

A perfect break - we'd definitely recommend it.

Magnificent view but tired property

This is a fantastic situation overlooking the bay and a superb terrace. However let down by a tired property that needs a refurbishment. Chipped crockery, sheets with holes, no matching linen, an oven but nothing that can be used in it as just a few examples. Also pool was green. And the single beds are on two different levels - designed for children I suspect, so don't think about joining them to make a double. But will say the supervisor of the property is brilliant and very helpful.

Great location

This was our second time at this apartment and we would definitely recommend it. It is well-equipped and the view from the terrace is fabulous. The apartment is well looked after by Sam and Cabo de Palos is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday, a highlight being the beach at Calblanque.

Calaflores, 'cove of flowers', adjoins Cabo de Palos - a pretty fishing village on the Mediterranean with attractive restaurants overlooking the marina. Being a cape it gets cooled by the sea breeze in summer. Calblanque nature reserve with its hills and miles of sandy beaches lies to the south leading to the La Manga Club. The Mar Menor is 5 minutes drive away. The historic city of Cartagena is a 15 minute drive and the regional capital, Murcia is around 45 minutes drive. San Javier (Murcia) airport is 30 minutes away and Alicante airport just over an hour.
