Built on the side of a hill, the 120 year old Trullo Mandorla has been extensively renovated to sympathetically combine the unique features of the original stone building with contemporary design. Wifi available.
The stylish and sophisticated interior ensures your stay is pampered. The beautiful restored stone, exquisite lighting, and luxurious bathrooms create a unique stay in a trullo. The trullo has 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 6, with 2 bathrooms, one of which is en suite. Staying at Trullo Mandorla means enjoying spacious and diverse external areas. This includes an external lounge which makes the most of the fantastic view of the sea and coastal plain and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. On the olive terrace above the house the kidney shaped pool enjoys panoramic views.
Trullo Mandorla is situated 5 minutes drive from the sea and a few minutes from the nearby town of Fasano. It is in an excellent location for visiting the towns of Ostuni, Alberobello, and Cisternino.
Trullo Mandorla was somewhere we had long wanted to visit and expectations were high. We were not disappointed! Having driven straight from Bari airport we were shown round the luxury trullo by Nick and Sarah who manage the property. They were delightful and very thorough in explaining everything. The outside space is amazing with fantastic views over the Adriatic. A canopied lounging area, a beautifully landscaped garden, a fantastic eating area with kitchen and barbecue and a beautiful pool - what more could you ask for? Well, trees bearing olives, figs and almonds! Inside the trullo is just as stunning as outside - comfortable seating, a well equipped kitchen, three stylish bedrooms (one end suite) and an extremely large bath!! The views from the dining area are stunning.
The trullo is ideally placed for visiting Alberobello, and the Valle d'Itria, Lecce, Monopoli and the fabulous Ostuni.
The pictures of Trullo Mandorla on the website are great - the real thing is even better.
Jo, the owner, was extremely prompt at replying to emails before we arrived and everything was as promised. We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone wanting a holiday in Puglia.
Trullo Mandorla is in a tremendous location, on a hillside facing the Adriatic with great views of the sea only a few miles away. The traditional Trullo has been very tastefully and sensibly extended to provide generous accommodation for 6, with the added attractions of a comfortable terrace seating area with a view towards the sea (ideal for morning and evening book reading) , an outside dining area and kitchen set back in the hillside, and a pool on the level above the Trullo with an ample surrounding lounging area and hammock, all in large hillside grounds. The trullo was well serviced by the property managers and was not far from the town of Fasano, which has all necessary amenities, and within easy reach of the beach and many characterful local towns. Beautiful Lecce, the "Florence of the South" is only an hour's drive away, as are the airports at Bari and Brindisi. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week's stay and would very much like to return one day.
We were wowed the moment we arrived here and used all the lovely outdoor spaces daily – the sofas with the amazing views (perfect for early evening drinks!) and long meals at the outside table, cooked in the outstanding outdoor kitchen. The pool was a great hit with our two kids aged 7 and 9, who were hardly out of it. The gardens are to die for and the hammock provides the ideal spot for reading a good book (when you’re not being dragged in the pool by the kids!). The house itself is simply but beautifully done to a very high standard and it is well-equipped, with comfy beds. There was plenty of room for the four of us and my elderly mother.
Jo, the owner, is lovely and provides useful information about the area – and although it’s hard to drag yourself away from the outdoor kitchen (and it’s so easy to get good food at the local markets and the supermarket just 5/10 mins away), it is worth eating out sometimes as the restaurant food is fabulous (especially the fava bean puree and turnip tops). We enjoyed days out in Alberobello, Ostuni and Lecce and although the beaches were extremely crowded in August, the wild ones are beautiful, with crystal clear waters. The house is in easy access of both Bari and Brindisi airports and it's in a great location for runners - we ran to Fasano every morning. We definitely hope to return.
We had the most wonderful week, the Trullo was just perfect. We travelled with our 2 children and found the house perfect for what we needed. The house has been beautifully done and fitted out, we loved having breakfast in the outside kitchen and having evening drinks in the gorgeous outside sitting area admiring the view. The pool area overlooking the olive and almond trees was lovely, and although not huge was more than than perfect. We had such a great time exploring Puglia's towns and great beaches we are sure to be back! The trullo is well located, peaceful and rural, yet within easy reach of Puglia's treasures.
Great for grown-ups and children alike, a really special place.
Our first time in the south of Italy and wow, it was wonderful. The Trullo is completely fabulous with stunning views and every comfort and Jo the owner couldn't have been more helpful before we left for Italy with information about places to see and importantly - eat!
We flew into Bari and its about an hour drive to Fasano and then into the foothills to the property. Its not far though as that was my morning run and we walked into Fasano too.
The gardens are beautiful: olive trees on several terraces, almonds, figs, bay, oregano, basil, rosemary, oleander, lantana, bougainvillea, and much more. We spent most time relaxing on the terrace by the pool soaking in the views and the sun. The outside kitchen is something else, well equipped and made a perfect set for great evening meals.
And of Apuglia. Make sure you see Lecce, Egnazia, Ostuni, Polignano, eat the fava bean puree and turnip tops, have a meal in Savalletri, take in the lovely beaches at a Lido or by simply driving to the coast and pitching up practically anywhere.
The Trullo is in great spot - I can see why the owners chose it. There are many around but from what we saw very few have that stunning view or are finished to such a high standard. Brilliant.
A beautiful trullo. The outside 'lounge' area is especially stylish with panoramic views to the Ocean. A well equipped property with everything you might need for a special family holiday. The owners were very helpful with suggestions of places/restaurants to visit. Well placed for trips to the beach and the historic old towns of Puglia.
Trullo Mandorla is ideally located for those who wish to enjoy the nearby sandy beaches and explore the undiscovered countryside of Puglia and the Valle d'Itria. It is situated 5 minutes drive from the sea and a few minutes from the nearby town of Fasano. It is in an excellent location for visiting the nearby towns of Ostuni, Alberobello 'the capital of the trullis', Martina Franca, Locorotondo, and Cisternino. It is less than an hour to the beautiful baroque town of Lecce and within easy access of both Bari and Brindisi airport.
