A week in Avignon
Excellent location for touring Provence. The apartment is inside the City wall with very narrow streets (Rue). Driving in and out of the City is nerve wrecking to say the least. The apartment is very large and well furnished. We have no issues with the apartment itself and a bottle of wine to welcome us was very nice.
The apartment is very spacious and well equipped. It has everything you need.
It is very close to all attractions.
The owner was very prompt in responding to inquiries.
The street and neighborhood are not the best.
Overall we had a very good stay.
Garage is a good feature
Overall, very good. Good location, well equipped and comfortable.
HAPPY IN AVIGNONE
THE PROPERTY WAS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED. THE LOCATION WAS SUPERB.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS JUST PERFECT TO GET A FEEL FOR LIFE IN THE CITY AND NOT JUST THE PLACES THE VISITORS WOULD NORMANLY INHABIT.
THE OWNERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL . YOU CAN NOT OVERESTIMATE THE VALUE OF THE PARKING SPACE AS PARKING IS VERY DIFFICULT AND THE STREETS ARE NARROW. IN SUMMERY I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS PROPERTY
Huge apartment with garage
We entered Avignon by car and were delighted with private garage located in front of the home with the owner waiting to greet us. The entrance to the apartment is on the side which opens up to a lovely spacious terrace. When we arrived inside it is well furnished with all modern conveniences you need. Gerard and his wife have the rooms decorated very clean and comfortable. There are individual climate control air conditioners throughout the apartment which you really don't need but a great added feature. Their is also Wi-Fi in the apartment and easy to use. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences you need and the laundry room has an area to iron and large washer and dryer. There bathroom is very well designed and the second powder room is lovely as well. The apartment can definitely cater to a large family with plenty of room. The area is located in a perfect city center. Easy to walk throughout the walled city and close to shops and grocery stores (right outside). If staying in the walled city and you want to experience Avignon this apartment is a MUST!
The perfect home-base to explore Provence.
It has been 7 months since we spent a week in this fine apartment, but it still has us yearning to return to Avignon. And when we do, we will definitely stay at Gerard's Carreterie loft. He was an excellent host - very easy to deal with and helpful. Our family of four found this apartment perfect for our needs. Plenty of room. Separate beds and spaces for our teens - a good thing to have on a 3-week family vacation. It is conveniently located, clean, comfortable and quiet. We walked to most places within the walled city, including the banks and bistros of Place de l'Horlage, and always felt quite safe even at night. Carrefour grocery was just a couple of blocks away from the apartment, as were two or three nice bakeries for fresh-daily croissants and breads. Le Cul de Poule restaurant just up the street in Place des Carmes was excellent - one of our best dining experiences in France. Parking is very scarce in the centre of the city, so it was wonderful to have a secure garage for our rental car, and access in and out of the centre was quick and easy for our day trips in the country. The only small negative, and we actually found it funny, was that the coffee maker would only work intermittently so brewing a pot of coffee might take 30-45 minutes if you weren't paying attention! Gerard is so attentive, I have no doubt it's been replaced by now. Stop hesitating...click the "Book Now" button. You won't be disappointed.
