We had to cut our week short but loved the cottage a lot of thought has went into the design would recommend this cottage
Perfect location for Peak District lovers.
Fabulous cottage in a breathtaking location; the Roaches are literally on the doorstep. We had a week of peace and quiet, stunning scenery and a very welcoming cottage all rolled into one. Although the cottage could be classed as small, it contained everything needed for a getaway in the countryside. Very cosy and comfortable. My furry pal loved all of the walks and slept like a log every evening.
Definitely recommended. Would love to return in the non too distant future.
The cottage was in a stunning position and we thoroughly enjoyed the views, calves and sheep.
Although the cottage itself was well appointed and comfortable, the cleanliness of the bedroom floors and kitchen cupboards left a lot to be desired. The bathroom itself was spotless and the linen and towels were excellent.
We had great fun and found a lot of interesting venues to visit. Our grandson’s favourite was the Peak Wildlife Centre because he fell in love with the ring tailed, orange eyed lemurs. We would definitely visit this area again.
Thank you for your review. I am glad you had a lovely time. I am sorry some parts of the cottage were not thoroughly clean. I have passed your comments onto the owner to rectify.
Fun filled holiday
Fantastic accommodation and wonderful welcome from proprietors. Lovely area: beautiful scenery and lots to do and see.
Much more than we expected! What a view
We had a sunny and very nice holiday! At our arrival we were surprised about the astonishing view and place. The best we have ever had!
Great location, cottage and host
Compact cottage with everything you could need. Stayed during heatwave so mainly sat outdoors and admired the wonderful views.Would need a car to make the most of the area as set away from the main roads (which is the pleasure of staying there) but still very close to Leek. Many walks possible from the doorstep.
As you sit on the cottage patio and marvel at the views down the valley it's hard to imagine that Leek with its splendid Victorian buildings, cobbled streets and mill shops is only a few miles away. Just a little further will take you to super towns and villages like Bakewell, Buxton and Hartington. You are also ideally placed to visit the world famous Wedgewood, Spode and Royal Doulton potteries.
For even more exiting days out how about Tittesworth's lake and nature trails, a barge trip along the Caldon Canal, a steam train ride from Cheddleton or visits to all the nearby National Trust houses and halls. If I then mention the scrumptious meals in the nearby Rock Inn or Lazy Trout pubs you will appreciate that I am describing a pretty fantastic holiday cottage and location.
