About the property

Step inside Rowan Lodge on our peaceful woodland estate and you'll feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of home. With its contemporary open plan design, the living and dining space are an inviting site after a long journey. Even before you unpack you will be planning a lazy afternoon on the wrap around deck and an even longer evening catching up with good company and a glass of something chilled.

The Lodge is situated in a site of outstanding natural beauty and special scientific interest. Access is from a private road that winds its way down through eight acres of woodland to reveal panoramic views across six counties.

In the cosy living room area, you can sit back and relax on winter evenings next to the log burner on the comfortable L shaped sofa. The lodge has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room area, bathroom with shower and a lovely double bedroom with a comfy double bed and large walk in wardrobe. We also have a fold out single bed for any children who may be accompanying you.

Rowan Lodge has the benefit of a stunning log burner. We can provide you with a basket of logs, kindling and firelighters for £5.00. Please let us know before you arrival if you would like them so we can get them ready for you. Payment needs to be in cash on arrival.

All dogs are very welcome at Rowan Lodge at an additional charge of £10 per dog and must be declared before arrival.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I booked Rowan Lodge for myself and my partner as a last minute romantic break away. The directions were spot on and we were instantly impressed at the beauty of the private drive that went down through woodland to the lodge. We were stunned by the views when we stood on the decking and we ended up spending our first evening sitting on the sofas with a glass of wine! Penny and her daughter Fern met us and were very polite and welcoming and helped us in with our bags. The lodge itself was absolutely spotless and it was warm and welcoming with the log burner already made up for us to light. In the lodge there is a folder full of all of the things to do around the area and all of the menus for the best local restaurants were also available. We recommend The Unicorn in Ludlow - we had a beautiful meal there! On the first day we took a trip to Berrington Hall (national trust property) and we were blown away by the lovely gardens and the history of the castle, definitely a must see if you're in the area! On the last day we walked around the woodland near the lodge and found old lime kilns hidden beneath the trees - it was a once in a lifetime experience to see something like that and it was a real eye opener for us for two city people. All in all we had such a fantastic stay and have already planned our second trip as there is still so much more to see and do. If you're looking for a tranquil escape or a romantic break away then this is the place! Thank you Penny for a lovely stay.

Enjoyed the peace & quiet and the cabin was in a lovely secluded area, although no actual views of the Clee Hills from the cabin itself.

Had all the amenities we needed and the cabin was spacious enough although it looked a 'little tired',in need of a bit of decoration, (not as bright as the picture on the web-site).

It was a bit noisy in the Yard / car park area when we were out on the deck relaxing but generally nice & quiet.
