We had a lovely stay in this quaint old home. Teresa was fantastic to work with and responsive and accommodating. Lovely home with many nice touches. The food left for our breakfast was delicious and more than we could even eat! Only disappointed that the weather didn't cooperate and we were not able to do the horse trail ride. We will have to come back now!!
Great family B&B
The Stonehorse was perfect for our family getaway! Teresa and Rex are super to communicate with. We did horseback riding at the ranch with Rex, which was great! Not just a trail ride! All but my husband had very limited to no experience riding, but Rex made sure we were all comfortable before heading out. Teresa had everything for breakfast in the fridge and the pantry was well stocked. We will recommend Stonehorse to our friends:)
Three well traveled couples from Kansas City spent three jammed packed days in the Flint Hills. Chamber of Commerce fund raising dinner on the Cottonwood Falls historical bridge, Symphony in the Flint Hills, National Tall Grass Prairie Reserve and the highlight of the trip, a 2 hour horseback ride across the prairie at the Bar U Ranch. Plus antiquing in Cottonwood Falls, meals at Ad Astra and the Grand Hotel and late night hours sitting and talking on the front porch.
Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, nicely decorated home. Teresa was a joy to work with on arrangements and answered my numerous questions with humor and grace. The fridge was stocked with more breakfast items than we could eat and she also provided a delicious blueberry bread and a incredible breakfast casserole.
Be sure to work with Teresa and her husband Rex to arrange horseback riding at the Bar U Ranch. We were all inexperienced riders, but Rex took the time to make sure we were comfortable on the horses in the barnyard before we took off across the flint hills. These were working ranch horses that did not blindly follow each other on a well beaten path. Up and down hills and creeks, through a herd of black angus cattle, with never ending vistas. Incredible experience. We will go back to Cottonwood Falls again just for the horseback riding at the Bar U Ranch.
Go to Cottonwood Falls, stay at the Stone Horse and ride at the Bar U Ranch. Help preserve the tall grass prairie and the culture of the Flint Hills.
Wonderful home and terrific little town.
Very comfortable beds and plenty of supplies in the kitchen made for a very nice long weekend stay with family. Would definitely stay again.
Fit the bill perfectly for our company retreat
We stayed at the Stonehorse B&B for a 2 day/1 night company retreat in the Flint Hills. This was the perfect place and a great value considering location, amenities, space - all with breakfast included.
We had 5 people - so each person had their own room and plenty of space. We used every room in the house at one point, including lunch on the 2nd day on the front porch enjoying the gorgeous weather.
Teresa leaves the kitchen stocked with everything you need for breakfast. A self-serve breakfast at a B&B - Brilliant! Our selection included eggs, bacon, toast, bagels, fruit and freshly baked muffins - plus coffee, tea and OJ - all ready for whenever we wanted it in the AM.
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful plus just a few minutes to the Cottonwood Falls downtown square. We went to the Tallgrass Nature Preserve for a hike and it was an easy drive - within 10 minutes of the house.
There is no wi-fi but honestly, we did not even miss it. I had a hotspot if we needed it, and that worked fine.
Teresa was FANTASTIC! Super accommodating and easy to work with. The whole experience was great and I would highly recommend this property for any small group, family, friends traveling together, etc.
Charming town and house
What a wonderful little town. Love the house and would stay here again.
