An incredible stay at a lovely house; spacious, nice style and clean
We rented the Islington charm. We were SO happy with our stay! A lovely house, spacious, nice style, clean. I was super happy with the personal contact I got with Veeve as well (with Ambra) since she took time to send me links to properties she thought would suit our needs (size/comfort/price) and we were very happy with the person who greeted us at the property. Overall, we have experienced Veeve as being a very professional and reliable agency. Thank you!
Property Has Potential - Needs Work
We stayed in this property for a family vacation. Overall, the property is OK but it needs some work. My thoughts:
Veeve: We rented through Veeve and the were terrific. No complaints and would use them again.
Overall: The house is fine. The master bed is fine but all other guests complained about the beds as being uncomfortable. We would probably not stay here again.
Safety Considerations: While there are multiple doors to enter/exit the property, the only door that would open was the front door. The keys for the downstairs doors were not provided and when questioned, were not where we were told they'd be. The front door skeleton key was so difficult to use that it would typically take us 15-20 minutes each morning to jiggle the lock open. This is fairly fatal from my view as the property is not safe in the event we needed to exit the property quickly.
Cleanliness: the house needs a thorough deep cleaning. Cobwebs are present through your the house.
Bugs: there are an excess number of spiders in the house. I realize that some people are fine with spiders but we killed 8-10 per day in the bathroom areas alone.
Hot Water: the master bath shower nozzles are a bit complex for people to use so either address or provide simple directions. I would add that we could also only get 1-2 quick showers in the morning before we had no hot water. On our last day, we had no hot water at all.
Linens: given the number of guests the house is supposed to sleep, they need to provide more towels or at least be warned and bring your own.
Parking: The parking space is only sufficient for a small car and the side streets are marked for residents with permits only.
Stairs: This is a house with many stairs. We did fine with the stairs but if we had older family members or someone who is health compromised, this house would not work.
We went as a family and the house made our stay in London wonderful
The location of this house is ideal, close to Shoreditch and trendy neighborhoods. Efficient bus network all around. The house is set over 3 floors, with a huge kitchen on the middle floor. It's perfect for 7 people (3 double rooms + 1 single). We went as a family and the house made our stay in London wonderful. However, the photos of the ad are clearly "photoshopped": the furniture is far from new! And not too much attention is paid to the cleanliness (especially for some kitchen tools ...).
Very happy with Veeve.
Really nice house and Tom was very helpful in the leadup to the stay.
Nice large garden
Property as described. The only issue was that the instructions for the central heating were not clear. Would recommend for up to 3 couples and 1 child or small adult. Would be nice in spring or summer as there is a large private garden. The Scolt Head pub opposite the property serves very good reasonably priced pub grub and great beer. Islington is an easy 30 min walk for great shops, bars, restaraunts and cinema/theatre.
Great family home
Great location, the home is very warm and comfortable with a large back yard. Is close to bus and overland routed meaning to are only 30-40 mins to anywhere in London. Is very close to the trendy/hipster areas of hoxton and shoreditch. The house would suit a family travelling and staying in London for a week or more where you are planning to have family and friends visit for a dinner or drinks. Very homely and spacious
