Experience the charm of Channel View, a unique 100 year old beautifully spacious cottage which was refurbished in 2016 to a very high standard. The cottage is a long standing well known landmark at Kings Cross, a relaxing location with sea views over the Ayrshire coast, Whiting Bay and the hills above Whiting Bay. It is only a short walk from the beach and the historical Viking Fort and burial ground on the lovely area known as Kings Cross point.
Channel View is a charming, well equipped cosy cottage with all your comforts in mind. The cottage is suitable for family gatherings and groups alike, the house is south facing so enjoys the sun all day long. It sleeps 7 comfortably and most bedrooms have a sea view or look out over the lovely countryside.
The cottage was built in 1897 and has been in the family for over 50 years. 4 generations have and still are enjoying many happy holidays making memories.
It has a modern large kitchen/diner where 8 persons can be seated for social gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped with modern cooking facilities – ceramic hob, integrated fan assisted oven and microwave. There is a dishwasher and a welcome pack is provided including washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, cleaning materials, salt and pepper, some herbs and spices, oil and vinegar, tea, coffee and sugar. All the equipment you require for cooking and baking are provided. The lounge is comfortable with ample seating and chairs by the windows so you can enjoy the views. It is cosy with a log burning stove – a starter pack of kindling and logs are provided and extra can be purchased locally. The reception hallway has ample hanging space. The utility has a large Belfast sink, washing machine and tumble dryer and there is a separate fridge and small freezer. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor. The large master bedroom with ensuite (separate shower and bath) another single room is also on the ground floor. 2 twin bedrooms upstairs with a separate shower room. The upstairs bedrooms have spectacular views into Whiting Bay and to the hills above.
There is oil fired central heating so is warm and cosy for your all year round breaks. The combi boiler also offers constant hot water.
Outside there are many benches, including a large picnic bench, where you can sit and enjoy your meals or a glass of wine, enjoying the views or watching the shipping and sail boats on the Clyde. Or just relax and watch the native red squirrels and birds. There is a charcoal BBQ for your use

Children for many years have enjoyed Channel View with its beautiful spacious gardens and trees to play in. We also offer a variety of indoor and outdoor toys and games for your convenience. We provide a highchair and there is a bed guard available.
Outside there is also a storage box with extra items for you to use including folding picnic bench (seats 4), folding chairs if you are out and about. We request that you replace these items after use.
The garden is not enclosed so children and dogs should not be left unattended. The cottage is in the countryside and pet owners require to ensure dogs do not worry any of the farm animals in adjacent fields.
