There are numerous country and coastal walks nearby as well as the Coast and Castle cycle route and Goswick golf course. 2 miles to the north is the Elizabethan walled town of Berwick upon Tweed with supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Holy Island is just a 10 minute drive to the south. Just a little further is Bamburgh- the ancient capital of Northumberland, Seahouses with boat trips to the Farne Islands and Alnwick Castle and Garden.
