Why Rosalind Dryden chose Berwick-upon-Tweed

The property is located in the old part of a quiet village that is close to Cocklawburn beach where there are miles of glorious golden sand for walking. There are two cafes within walking distance open 7 days a week for breakfasts, lunches, coffees and cake- the one at Borewell Farm and one with an an outdoor shop selling lots of items for holiday makers. It is possible to walk into Berwick upon Tweed. There is good access to the A1 also.

What makes this cottage unique

We fell in love with the property as it is a tranquil setting with the architecture of the Early English style church nearby and the Old School. The east/west orientation that makes for a perfect breakfast terrace to the rear to enjoy the sun rise. The house that the cottage is attached to is the old School Master's House that was constructed in 1843 and lived in by generations of headmistresses/masters up until the school relocated to the other side of the village in the 1960's.
