Second floor two bedroom apartment with fantastic glass fronted living, dining and kitchen area which looks out and down to a 350 square metre 'Portico' guest relaxation and entertainment area. The view also extends beyond the 7 stone arches of the portico to the garden and farm beyond. The apartment has a 4.5 metre high original terracotta tile and beam ceiling with supporting trusses passing through the rooms. Classic larch wood floor. 400 year old exposed stone walls.
The apartment is very well furnished with locally made solid wood furniture and kitchen with contemporary lighting. The kitchen has a solid granite work surface.
Both bedrooms are north facing with views out to 5000 square metre Villa Palazzo Rosso courtyard garden.
The apartment is both heated and air conditioned.
The 6 apartments are built into the south facing wing of a 17th century Italian Villa and 400 acre working arable farm called Palazzo Rosso (the Red Palace). The 400 year old building has just been completely and lovingly restored, retaining all original features, beams, solid stone walls, fireplaces etc. There is a 300 square metre 10 metre high beamed barn for guest use, paved with local stone. A 13.5x6 metre pool was installed in the spring 2008. There are extensive gardens for guests on both sides of the building, as well as an orchard and courtyard animals (horse, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits and dogs).
The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.
Places to visit: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called Lumignano. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.
Further afield: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away
More Information about the property: The apartments can all be rented separately or together for larger groups.

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
The apartment was very comfortable, perfect for a family with small children. The satellite TV, DVD player & stereo made life easier when it rained. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of great places to go out for dinner, the Italians all take their children out with them which was a nice change and made our evenings much more enjoyable.
There were lots of places to go and visit close by, we stayed for nearly two weeks and still didn't get to see everything.
We had a great time staying over new year, we even joined in a local new years party which was great fun.
looking forward to coming back soon.

Comfortable, nice showers, enough towels, good beds, very complete kitchen.
Nice surroundings, beautiful hills, well located to the A4 highway.
We like the fire outside.
You've been very helpful and kind.
We like the fresh eggs !!

The rental rate includes electricity, heating and air conditioning (when required), linen (including beach towels during the summer season) and final cleaning. There are no hidden costs. Payment by bank transfer or by credit card.
My wife and I have just spent 2 weeks at Palazzo Rossi with my daughter and grandson. The apartment was excellent and very well equipped. The whole complex was clean and well maintained with the pool being a real bonus. The owners Phil and Sylvy were on site every day and worked hard to make everyone welcome. They advised on local facilities and attractions as well as providing free "free range" eggs and fresh fruit from the orchard. Our only disappointment was that we missed the grape harvest. Despite the deteriorating £/euro exchange rate the apartment represented excellent value for money
A delightful holiday , accommodation first class in a great location for travelling to Venice and Verona and beyond . The pool was very appreciated with the temperature reaching 37 degrees . Sylvi and Phil couldn't to enough to help the whole experience was wonderful will definitely go back very soon .
Really nice stay. Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful and kind owners. Lots of good tips for the surrounding areas. Thank you Phil & Silvy XX

We stayed for a week over a school mid-term break and had a super time here, loving the relaxed, natural environment. Sylvie and Phil are great hosts and always around to offer advice or help as they work the farm.
Brilliant for cyclists incl kids, this area connects to local towns via a flat cycle path - rail conversion. The local hills and nearby regional park are great for stronger riders and driving trips. I noted a limestone rock-climbing area a couple of km away.
Vicenza was bike able with the kids for a day trip. Padua is a short drive to see the Giotto paintings in the chapel. Venice is an easy day trip. Coming back to the farm each afternoon, the covered 400 year old barn makes an outdoor social gathering point to meet and talk with the other families/couples and watch the kids play. Nice pool, but too cold for us in October.
We went with owner Phil to see a local farmer pressing his grapes for wine making.
Truly enjoyable and relaxing place to base yourself out of for an extended visit to this part of Italy. Car is required.
Our second stay with Phil and Silvy at the Pallazo de Rosso and were not disappointed. The usual high standards of looking after us on our stay and ensuring everything was perfect.

The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms).
There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit.
Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm.
Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil prooducer.
