The 6 apartments are built into the south facing wing of a 17th century Italian Villa and 400 acre working arable farm called Palazzo Rosso (the Red Palace). The 400 year old building has just been completely and lovingly restored, retaining all original features, beams, solid stone walls, fireplaces etc. There is a 300 square metre 10 metre high beamed barn for guest use, paved with local stone. A 13.5x6 metre pool was installed in the spring 2008. There are extensive gardens for guests on both sides of the building, as well as an orchard and courtyard animals (horse, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits and dogs).
The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.
Places to visit: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called Lumignano. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.
Further afield: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
The apartment was very comfortable, perfect for a family with small children. The satellite TV, DVD player & stereo made life easier when it rained. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of great places to go out for dinner, the Italians all take their children out with them which was a nice change and made our evenings much more enjoyable.
There were lots of places to go and visit close by, we stayed for nearly two weeks and still didn't get to see everything.
We had a great time staying over new year, we even joined in a local new years party which was great fun.
looking forward to coming back soon.

We booked the farm last minute and did so purely from the photo's and reviews. Phil and Sylvie are great hosts and are always there if you need them but leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped with air conditioning if you needed it. The farm has a great shared outdoor space, games room and pool which was lovely at the end of a hot day. We took advantage of the free bikes as there are lots of local villages to explore and there is also a great cycle path all the way to Vicenza. The farm is in a great location and we went to Venice for the day, Lake Garda (via Sylvie's scenic route) and Asiago in the mountains. We loved our morning walk to get coffee and fresh pastries (5 mins) whilst our teenager slept. We ate in most nights but there is a great pizza restaurant nearby with a fantastic ice-cream shop attached. It is open until 10.30 and it seemed to be the Italian thing to do on a hot evening. We definitely need to return as there is so much more to see and do in the area. Great holiday
This is the second year we have been to Palazzo Rosso and if anything this year was better than last year ! Fantastic accommodation in a peaceful setting and great hosts. Perfect combination for the perfect holiday. Plenty to do nearby including Lake Garda, water parks for the kids and we also went to the Ferrari museum in Modena. Lots of good restaurants as well. The nearest big town is Vicenza which we visited regularly enjoying coffees in the main square. We would definitely go back again.
This was a lovely place to come back to after visiting all the fantastic places in the region. A perfect marriage of old and new - air conditioning in a beautiful barn conversion- a great pool and a beautiful shaded seating area outside. The organisation is of a high standard; everything is ways clean and tidy so that you can really relax. The owners will try and help you make the most of your time and are good at tailoring their suggestions to the interests of their guests. We loved it.
Palazzo Rosso is amazing! Phil & Silvy did an amazing job restoring these historic apartments. All the amenities were extremely comfortable and our hosts were very warm and gracious, making sure we felt at home. The property itself was beautiful with amazing vistas of bucolic farmland and mountains. The central location worked as a great location for us during our 9 day stay in January. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks again Phil & Silvy!
Its just like the painting you see of the peaceful farm with rolling grapevines, it has the most beautiful mornings. The most amazing windows in each room. Each one paints a scenery of the outside. The owners are very hospitable and provided us with fresh eggs in the mornings and sometimes sweet plumbs. We will for sure return.
The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms).
There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit.
Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm.
Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil prooducer.
Other Activities: Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the 400 metre high Colli Berici hills
