The 6 apartments are built into the south facing wing of a 17th century Italian Villa and 400 acre working arable farm called Palazzo Rosso (the Red Palace). The 400 year old building has just been completely and lovingly restored, retaining all original features, beams, solid stone walls, fireplaces etc. There is a 300 square metre 10 metre high beamed barn for guest use, paved with local stone. A 13.5x6 metre pool was installed in the spring 2008. There are extensive gardens for guests on both sides of the building, as well as an orchard and courtyard animals (horse, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits and dogs).
The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.
Places to visit: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called Lumignano. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.
Further afield: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
The apartment was very comfortable, perfect for a family with small children. The satellite TV, DVD player & stereo made life easier when it rained. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of great places to go out for dinner, the Italians all take their children out with them which was a nice change and made our evenings much more enjoyable.
There were lots of places to go and visit close by, we stayed for nearly two weeks and still didn't get to see everything.
We had a great time staying over new year, we even joined in a local new years party which was great fun.
looking forward to coming back soon.

My family spent a week at the farm this past June and had a wonderful time. Although the apartment was delightful - clean and exactly how it looked in the pictures - the most surprising thing was just how delightful the owners, Phil and Silvia, were. Phil and Silvia went out of their way to make sure we have everything we needed - including arranging for a local tour guide (who was excellent), lending us a number of books on the area from their personal library and recommending all the best local restaurants. Silvia even took my children on a tour of the farm so that they could feed all the animals - probably the highlight of the week if you ask my children. Palazzo Rosso is a working farm - they were harvesting wheat the week we were there - but no matter how busy they were Phil and Silvia always took the time to make sure our holiday was everything we hoped it would be. I highly recommend Palazzo Rosso!
Phil and Slyvia were fabulous hosts and nothing was to much trouble for them. They have a great knowledge of the area and were able to suggest many days out, how to get there and print maps if required. Despite working on the farm they always found time to find out what we were doing. One evening we were invited to a "Risotto festival" and the memories of a fantastic and very different evening will remain with us for a long time.
We visited, Verona, Venice and Vincenza using the train and enjoyed all of them.
Overall a great holiday was had by all and the hosts could not have been friendlier or more helpful and we would Highly recommend a saty with them and hope to return again in the future.
Once again Phil and Slyvia a great big thankyou.

We stayed at Palazzo Rosso for 2 weeks in August 2016 and had a wonderful time. The converted barn is so beautiful and the outdoor area so spacious and welcoming. We loved the pool, common room, massive balcony and the terrace, which provides welcome shade but catches the evening sun beautifully. Silvy and Phil were friendly and incredibly helpful, helping us to have the best holiday possible by suggesting days out and helping us book things as our Italian is so poor! Silvy took my son to show him the animals and feed them which he really enjoyed.
The apartment was clean and comfortable, really good beds. Air conditioning was very welcome. As a wonderful bonus, we were able to pick fruit - plums, apples and pears - in the orchard, and had a few eggs from the chickens too. Oh yes and the bikes were great - my kids loved riding on the back of the tandem in particular!
We particularly enjoyed visiting the Palladian villas but there is tons to see and do in the area. I would highly recommend Palazzo Rosso for a holiday that is as restful or as active as you want.
We spent a fantastic 2 weeks at Palazzo Rosso farm. It totally lives up to it's 5 star reviews. The barn has been converted to a high standard. The apartments are clean, well equipped and spacious. As a family of 5, we were very comfortable in apartment 3. The pool is great and has a bubble pool setting. Phil and Silvi are wonderful hosts. They want their guests to have an amazing stay and work endlessly to make this happen. They're on hand to offer advice on places to visit and things to do. There are lots of beautiful places to visit within an hours drive. Our children loved seeing the baby chicks and the new born kid. They also loved to feed the animals and collect eggs. Phil & Silvi organised a communal BBQ for all the guests on our last night, which was lots of fun! We don't normally go back to the same place on holiday but we will definitely go back to Palazzo Rosso and I thoroughly recommend it!
My family (father, mother, two daughters(16 and 20) with their boyfriends) spent two weeks here and it is a fantastic place to stay. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone staying in this part of Italy.
Sylvie and Phil are extremly friendly and helpful, the appartements are very clean, furnished tastefully with an Italian style (including aircondition) and the pool is fantastic.
There were lots of fantastic places to go and visits close by, just like Vicenza, Padova, Venice, Verona and Treviso.
The area is also perfect for road bike (up to 440 mters high) and MTB.
Thank you again, Phil and Sylvia and we already gave your address to our friends, hoping they will come to Palazzo Rosso and appreciate the place as mush as we did.
We had a great time.
The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms).
There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit.
Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm.
Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil prooducer.
Other Activities: Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the 400 metre high Colli Berici hills
