The 6 apartments are built into the south facing wing of a 17th century Italian Villa and 400 acre working arable farm called Palazzo Rosso (the Red Palace). The 400 year old building has just been completely and lovingly restored, retaining all original features, beams, solid stone walls, fireplaces etc. There is a 300 square metre 10 metre high beamed barn for guest use, paved with local stone. A 13.5x6 metre pool was installed in the spring 2008. There are extensive gardens for guests on both sides of the building, as well as an orchard and courtyard animals (horse, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits and dogs).
The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.
Places to visit: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called Lumignano. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.
Further afield: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away
More Information about the property: The apartments can all be rented separately or together for larger groups.

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
The apartment was very comfortable, perfect for a family with small children. The satellite TV, DVD player & stereo made life easier when it rained. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of great places to go out for dinner, the Italians all take their children out with them which was a nice change and made our evenings much more enjoyable.
There were lots of places to go and visit close by, we stayed for nearly two weeks and still didn't get to see everything.
We had a great time staying over new year, we even joined in a local new years party which was great fun.
looking forward to coming back soon.

10 days stay in September 2016. Beautiful setting, very relaxing, very hospitable hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble. Lovely swimming pool and surround, with jacuzzi in pool.
What a stunning place. I cannot fault it. We stayed with our 5 month old and were made to feel so welcome. The building is stunning. The apartments well equipped and Silvie and Phil are perfect hosts - on hand but not overbearing - Very friendly and did everything to ensure our stay was comfortable and happy.
We stayed in apartment 2 and loved having direct access to the covered barn area where we could bbq each evening and enjoy a glass of vino whilst the moon rose over the farm fields. The walls of the farm building are so thick that our little one heard nothing inside or out and slept really well.
Ideally placed for day trips to stunning Verona, Venice and Vincenza.
I almost wanted to keep this gem a secret, but Silvie and Phil deserve to get a rave review for their stunning home. I am sure we will be back!
A comfortable ground floor flat with easy access, well-equipped kitchen and very large fridge - essential - plus free use of laundry facilities all made for a very pleasant stay. The best part though is the input by Phil and Sylvie - their guidebook is detailed and they back it up with a wealth of local knowledge which makes spending time in this lovely part of Italy a real joy.
I would warmly recommend Palazzo Rosso to anyone with a love of history, culture beautiful countryside and architecture, as well as great local food and wine.
We're back next month for our tenth stay.My wife and I have visited lots of Italy(north and south) but cannot find a more agreeable place than Palazzo Rosso.
Our hosts Phil and Silvi could not be more helpful, especially suggesting places to visit. There are lots of good places to eat for all budgets or convenient shops and supermarkets if you want to cook yourself.
Now that the motorway has opened close by it is so easy to get to Venice, Verona, Lake Garda, Padua and loads more.
Kids love the farm animals, adults love the culture and relaxation. You'll have a great time.

We actually stayed in Apartment 6 on the top floor (for 6 people) but can't select this for the review.
We had a fantastic week at Palazzo Rosso in August 2014. The setting is simply superb. There are plains to the east, hills to the south, mountains to the north, and rocky gorges to the west. The buildings have been tastfully restored and there is plenty of space in the apartments, but also in the shared areas outdoors and by the pool. Our children loved feeding the varierty of animals kept on the farm but we were also able to spot some wildlife too such as otters in the river and hares in the fields. Within an hours drive is venice, verona, padua, vincenza, mantua and a multitude of ancient walled towns such as castlefranco, cittadela, soave, and montagagna. Lake Garda, the foothills of the Alps, and the coast are also within an hour and you can even reach some of the Dolomite mountain national parks if you are willing to go a little further.
Phil and Silvie made us feel very welcome indeed and were always on hand to give advice. Free eggs and apples each day were always welcome!
We would glady stay here again for another holiday in the future.
We had the pleasure of staying at Palazzo Rosso for a week in early May (2014) and I mean it was a total pleasure. After a week, I didn’t want to leave, I would have stayed longer. Phil and Sylvie are wonderful hosts and make you feel so welcome. Although they are always working hard on the farm, they are always available to answer questions and give you very good suggestions on ways to spend your time. I had done hours of research, reviewing places to visit and Phil and Sylvie directed us to the best sites-- sometimes one I hadn’t found on the internet and would not have wanted to miss.
The apartment was cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. A real advantage to staying here is that there are several common spaces to enjoy in addition to your apartment. The entrance room has several comfortable chairs in addition to a shelf of books/and travel guides, a refrigerator for local white wines, baskets full of lovely red wines, and a basket of farm fresh eggs. The larger common room had a pool table, which came in handy on rainy days, large comfy chairs, other games, and just in general a nice room in which to relax. The portico was our favorite spot. There were plenty of wrought iron tables and chairs on which to have your meals, with plenty of room for all who were staying there. There is a common laundry room which was very handy as well.
Phil emailed a 28 page guide to the Palazzo and the surrounding area in advance of our arrival which proved to be very practical and useful. They sent us information on how to access our apartment so that we did not have to worry about arriving at a specified time. The location was excellent for sightseeing as well; it was so conveniently located, you were in Vicenza in just a few minutes and Padua was only 20 minutes away, an easy drive. There is a new autostrada interchange nearby and we were able to drive up into the Dolomites so easily and quickly. Overall, the experience was totally satisfactory and I highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone wishing to stay in this part of Italy.
The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms).
There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit.
Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm.
Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil prooducer.
Other Activities: Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the 400 metre high Colli Berici hills
