ecological and artistic house

Bedrooms 1
Space 592 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

This charming little house located in an old mill of the 18th century has been completely renovated with ecological materials by Pascal, sculptor and master of the place.

Close to the Gorges de la Fou, the Baths of Amelie les Bains, the Museum of Modern Art of Céret, the Abbey of Arles sur Tech, Prats de Mollo, and the greenway that connects Arles sur Tech to Argelès, you will appreciate the place for its bucolic environment and its ease of access.

The house has a chamber with a bed 140 and a storage shelf.

On the mezzanine overlooking the main room are 2 beds in 90.

The futon living room sofa bed can turn into 130.

The kitchen is fully equipped: gas hob / induction, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster ...

You will also have a washing machine, an iron, a high chair, a folding bed, a bottle warmer and a jar for baby.

No TV, but an internet connection by wifi or cable, and a bluetooth CD player in the living room and a radio alarm clock in the room.

No central heating either, but a wood stove for a nice fire in the big room, an electric radiator in the bathroom and in the room!

The wardrobe is filled with board games, and you will also find some books and CDs for the whole family.

Many objects gleaned from the sandstone of our travels or from local artists give a warm atmosphere inside.

In the garden you can enjoy the sun loungers, enjoy your meal, light the grill or (depending prefectural) a campfire for an evening and enjoy the incredibly starry sky Vallespir. Children can also enjoy the swing.

Very easy to find, the Moulin de Galangau is located below the D115, 2 km after Arles sur Tech towards Prats de Mollo and right in front of the Gorges de la Fou, the narrowest gorge in the world !!

The house is as described. The owners are living next doors and are very helpful and friendly. The house is artistic, funcional, clean and quite. Perfect place for families as the children can play in the garden. We recommend strongly to visit the place if you like to visit the region of Arles sur tech and like to enjoy some rest in a beautiful place.

We have had a wonderful stay in this gite. Very clean and everything you could need for a peaceful holiday. Surrounding woodland and river there to be explored. Lovely walk through the fields across the road from the house and if you are feeling adventurous a walk through the woods at the bottom of the garden to a beautiful stream.. Isabelle and Pascal were the perfect hosts. The whole area has interesting castles, quaint villages and beautiful walks. Would highly recommend staying here.

Thank you Isabelle, Pascal and family for making us so welcome.

Our cottage is located right in front of the Gorges de la Fou (the narrowest in the world ... or Europe ...), a place very popular with tourists in August.

You will find all shops and restaurants 2 km away, in the village of Arles sur Tech.

Take the opportunity to visit the magnificent Abbey and its cloister and the Moulin des Arts installed in a former weaving factory.

Further up in the valley, the fortified village of Prats de Mollo is a must with the Fort Lagarde which offers in the summer theatrical tours that appeal to young and old alike.

Saint Laurent de Cerdans attracts lovers of ancestral know-how: the factory of Toiles du Soleil and that of vigatanes (espadrilles).

The city of Céret is famous for its Museum of Modern Art, but you should not miss the big Saturday morning market that sits under the plane trees. Take the opportunity to stock up on cheese, all the producers in the valley are there. You will also find organic fruit and vegetable producers and a good fishmonger.

A little further is the lake of Saint Jean Pla de Corts, with its green grass beach, its many water activities, its tavern, its ski lift, its acrobatic park.

There are of course many other small villages to visit, some for their view of the mountains, others for their small Romanesque church or for a nice little restaurant.

Spain (Southern Catalonia) is there too, just on the other side of the mountain and waiting for you for a little change of scenery.

And of course all the hiking trails, more or less difficult, which will make you discover breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife.
