Perfect example of integration in the rich and peaceful nature around, this elegant cottage was designed by its owner, Tayfun Alatli, in order to 'breath' with its magnificent olive trees garden long the Iznik Lake. In fact, all the materials used to build this 'round house' are natural. From the central living-room, 'heart' of this traditional and modern cottage, every room opens from the intimate of it to the garden of olive trees and flowers, spread towards the lake.
Exceptional position with private access to the pure water of Iznik Lake, situated between the natural hot springs of Keramet. These two houses provide a luxurious garden of olive trees and all the natural produce of this rich soil - biological vegetables, fruit and olives. Delicious pure oil for meals is available, if requested - these may be taken on the terrace. These two houses, designed by the architect owner, are a mixture of elegance together with traditional and modern items in order to create a cosy and 'open-to-nature' atmosphere. Each house is equipped with all modern facilities and the fireplaces spread their joyful warmth in the large living-rooms. The garden overlooking the lake - where swimming is delightful ; one boat waits for you! - is a perfect place to rest in the hammocks, and also to have fantastic barbecue parties. This peaceful and authentic paradise is discreetly supervised by the delicate and warm welcoming hospitality of its owner
This was our second time in the house on the lake (June 20 -28, 2012), by now we tried both houses, they are exactly what you see in the picture, and being second time is enough to say about our satisfaction, and for sure will plan to come back again, the stay in this area should be considered only for people in love with nature and ready to accept a different life from what they use to have in the city, this is completely a new experience and the abundant of natural life and the beauty of the sun set and sun rise on the lake is not to be missed, the garden is well taking care of (Mr. Tayfun enjoy gardening),
And not to forget the hospitality and kindness of the host, the owner which make our stay much easier and extend his best support in all ways possible.
Thank You Tayfun”

the location is exceptional and the owner very helpful and the area is very relaxing .
After learning that all hotels were booked in the town of Iznik (overrun by ultra and marathon runners - myself included), I was quite disheartened. But turned out that this was a really fortunate turn of events. I stumbled upon Kriska's House from a single, lonely Trip Advisor review.
I emailed the proprietor, Tayfun Bey, who was incredibly responsive and helpful.
Still didn't know what I was getting myself into when we arrived at the property after a quick and easy ferry trip and drive from Istanbul. My wife and friends were shocked by the beauty of the property, the home(s) - both Kriska's and the adjacent, larger home - and, most importantly, the graciousness of the host.
Tayfun Bey took great care of us during our stay - wine, fresh fruits and veggies from the garden, good conversation by the fireplace - which resulted in my buddy and I achieving personal bests on the Iznik Mountain Marathon.
Would highly recommend folks in Istanbul to take a break from the city and recharge at one of Tayfun Bey's properties.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property, the location is unparalleled, nested in a charming natural setting, the property is nicely decorated, welcomes you as if it is your own home, everything one can expect in his home is there, the host and owner of the property is a very hospitable and helpful man. All in all, I would recommend this location and property to all nature lovers, it is really a unique place!
This is an incredible place with everything you can wish for the happiest holidays : two beautiful houses, extremely comfortable; rivers of flowers all over the park ; fruit trees and delicious vegetable; and last but not least the Iznik lake for swimming and enjoying the view.It is also quite close from the center of Istanbul (2 hours by boat)
Tayfun, the owner is not only a helpful owner. he is the architect who built the houses and the gardener who works everyday on his enchanting park.
In conclusion, I can only see that I'm longing for another stay in Iznik.
first thanks to the owner for his hospitality and sincere service really natural retreat marvelas view of the lake fantastic area with its natural springs waters close to yalova and bursa away from the hustle and bustle of the city really wonderful second home .
This is a perfect place to spend some time, with the fantastic lake (now restored to its original water level) and stunning gardens. The house was wonderful and the owner was kind and helpful. It was a good place for just enjoying the outdoors but also for touring the surrounding area. We would recommend it to anyone and hope we will return there in the future. WE were very sad to leave.
Located only 2 hours from Istanbul and 30 minutes from Iznik (capital of the Ottoman Ceramic and with its impressive Byzantine archaeological vestiges), Kriska's House and Fisek's House are situated beside the magnificent Iznik Lake, the perfect balance between culture and nature. Bursa, the capital of the region, is worth visiting as well for its museum, amazing mosques and kebab restaurants. Once back, enjoy a swim in the lake or a delightful and relaxing bath in the natural hot springs, surrounded by olive trees - the perfect opportunity to enjoy and feel in harmony with this peaceful and rich nature. Obviously, a visit to the 'hammam' traditional Turkish bath, with its several marble steam rooms and dry rooms, followed by a marvellous massage is the 'neo plus ultra' of the 'Art de Vivre' of these Ottoman and Byzantine civilizations. History, archaeology, geology, Turkish cuisine and the warmth of hospitality gather there in this precious and uncontaminated paradise.
