Cosy , warm , well equiped cottage in quiet location
We were welcomed by Jayne, who told us we only need to ask if there was anything we needed, she had invited us to come earlier than specified due to cottage being ready , also told us due to no one arriving the day we were leaving we could stay later than time specified. It was a very cold day but you felt the warmth as soon as you walked in . Very clean , done to high standard , realy enjoyed our stay in our clean comfy beds.
Very comfortable modern cottage. Highly recommend.
Good location for York.
A lovely cottage which was even better than the pictures. Spacious and beautifully decorated. A great base to explore Yorkshire. Wonderful provisions provided on our arrival. Only downside was road was quite noisy at times with tractors/lorries zooming past.
Weeks stay at Flaxton cottage
A comfortable new property.Well equipped .Good furniture and beds. Close to York attractions and Monks Cross shopping centre
Every home comfort
Four of us spent three nights here in total comfort. The cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped so that it is a home from home. The only small omissions are hooks on the bathroom doors and either a shelf or small table in the bathrooms for toiletries. Not a major issue but a finishing touch. The cottage is in a beautiful setting and very handy for York. It was disappointing that the pub in the village has closed down but we ate well at the Ship in Strensall and at Tykes up the road. Also, our hostess, Jayne, had kindly provided all we needed for our first breakfast and lunch. We would highly recommend this property.
Rented for 1 week to use as base for exploring the Moors.
Cottage is in 1st class condition and has wonderful living space and large bedrooms.
We had 2 medium dogs and there was plenty of space for us all, including our 2 friends who used the 2nd bedroom when they stayed over.
The owner Jayne was very helpful and charming.
Flaxton is well positioned for York (9 miles) with Scarborough (25 miles).
Would definitely recommend for those who like to get out and about.
Flaxton itself is very quiet with 1 pub about 1 mile away.
We tended to eat and drink in Stensall(3 miles) which has a few pubs and also Tesco Express store.
