Gateway to Paradise
We arrived late at night to Les Etoiles, after a long journey by plane, boat and train, and were met with the warmest welcome by our hosts, Stefy and Alex. Too tired to do much but find our bedrooms and crash for the night, we woke up to the most spectacular view of Lake Como and the Alps beyond from the balcony of the house. It was like looking at a postcard—absolutely picture perfect. The same magnificent view was ours from the garden and terrace, with Bellagio and the villages across either side of the Lake laid out like jewels below. Although we had a car, we chose to walk into town and back—a pleasant 30 minute walk down through trails and cobble-stones streets, and a steep, climb back up that was rewarded by lovely views of mountains, flowers and Lake. A car is nice to have but a small car is recommended to negotiate narrow streets and access to Les Etoiles, which is tricky at night.
We enjoyed being on top of the world and planning which part of the Lake to explore from our vantage point. And it was always a pleasure to return to Les Etoiles after a long day, watching the evening sky change from violet to deep blue, a glass of wine in hand and feeling like we were tasting a bit of heaven.
Stefy was always available by phone/text to answer questions and make sure we had everything we needed. She and Alex were excellent hosts and helped make our stay at Les Etoiles and Bellagio a truly wonderful experience. Marea from Chevy Chase, MD.
Thank you Marea for appreciating our house, garden and the gorgeous view. We hope you will come back!
Charming little place. Difficult to navigate with car.
Loved this quaint little house! It had everything we needed- but staying in late October required lots of firewood, so be sure to pick up plenty! The bathroom is tiny, with little to no room for anything but you in it, but I believe they are renovating the bathroom this month. A very small car is recommended to navigate the roads to the house. The views were spectacular and the house was a perfect getaway in the mountains! I would recommend this place!
Unfortunately we can’t do anything for the roads as they don’t depend on us but we are completely renovating the bathroom this month. Pictures of the new bathroom available on Homeaway as it is ready
There is heating and the fireplace is not the main source of heat
Wonderful private home with awesome deck and views!!
The views and privacy are to die for!! It’s like having an apartment with no one one either side, plus the yard and garden make everything so comfortable and private. You do need a car up the hill but access to Bellagio and markets is easy... once you find them!
Dear Robert, we are really pleased you enjoyed your holiday and appreciated our house and garden!
It was a great pleasure to meet you and we hope you will come back! Kind regards
What a view !!
A property that has been created with love and care and although a little rustic in places this just adds to it's charm. The view is amazing and you never tire of watching the lake. The journey to the property is worth it along the single track because the view is so amazing. Stefy the host couldn't be more welcoming and helpful with excellent local knowledge which means you can escape the crowds if necessary. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to be part of the Italian life but far enough away to enjoy the lake from all the tourists. A great place to stay although a car is definitely required to make the most of the area.
Thank you so much for your beautiful review. We are really pleased you had a nice time here and appreciated our house. We do hope you will come back, you are always welcome!!!

Les Etoiles is a lovely place to stay in Bellagio, with fine views over Lake Como.
We received a very warm welcome from Stefy who showed us around and gave us ideas for restaurants and things to do.
The property is delightful with everything you need. When we were there it was very hot during the day but in the evening it was balmy. You could sit and watch the lights come on and explore the stars in the night sky. We loved it .
The only negative is the narrow rough road to the property. If you are renting a car don't get a large vehicle, we had a Renegade Jeep, as it will be easier with a normal family car.
There are a couple of supermarkets in Bellagio so finding supplies was no problem. There are lots of restaurants in Bellagio so there is no problem finding somewhere to eat.
From Bellagio you can catch the ferry to all the towns on the lake with lots to see.
I would recommend this property to anyone but it is essential you have a car.
Thanks again Stefy for your warm welcome and assistance.

Spectacular view and Cozy comfort
Stefy and Alex have worked hard to provide and extremely inviting and comfortable place to experience the extraordinary beauty of Bellagio and Lake Como. The house is situated high on a hillside so the view is wonderful and the little balcony and well appointed patio provide a great place to appreciate the ever changing land and lakescape. The house is very clean and nicely furnished with attention to detail in providing a good espresso machine, granita/ice shaver, popcorn maker, nice, complete kitchen utensils, pretty wine glasses and lots of other things. Due to size probably, there is no oven or dishwasher. The main bedroom is big and the bed is comfortable. The second bedroom is small and most suited for kids. The roosters in the morning provide a little country ambiance but are effectively moderated by closing the shutters. Stefy calls the place L’Etoiles and it is indeed a little sparkler! Be advised that the drive off the main road is not for the faint of heart (but if you are driving in italy, it’s just another little adventure!)
Thank you Steven, we are really pleased you had a nice time here and appreciated our house! We hope you will come back!
Bellagio, the pearl of the lake.
"5 vele" village, famous for its historical center and wonderful landscape. Ideal for people who love having a gorgeous view of the lake.
