About Francoise Vuillermet
meeting people is a great happiness !
Francoise Vuillermet purchased this Studio in 2000
Why Francoise Vuillermet chose 5th Arrondissement
This house has been built in 1820 in the spirit of a family house. It has taken me about 13 years to renovate it. I'm just now very proud and happy to open it to people coming to visit Lyon
What makes this Studio unique

The Laurentine is a lovely independent guest house located at the end of the property in a huge garden in the town. it offers a unique peace and stunning view of the saône and Rhône facing the new Confluence district and Museum.

Wonderful guest house overlooking Lyon
The Laurentine is a very lovely property which sits on a hill overlooking the city of Lyon and the Saône River, and within walking distance of most attractions and the Perrache train station. My husband and I were there for 8 nights while visiting Lyon and seeing the World Cup. We stayed in the efficiency which was well appointed and provided enough space to keep our belongings off of the floor. We enjoyed the outside seating area where we ate breakfast every morning and had a few happy hours in the early evening. Francoise is a wonderful host and makes it a point to ensure you are comfortable and are enjoying your stay. We felt we were able to experience a little more of the French culture staying at Laurentine and would definitely stay there again!
Lovely views and terraced property
This lovely gem is tucked into the hills of Lyon overlooking the Saone River and the city. It is within walking distance of the ancient Roman ruins and several restaurants, boulangeries and cafes. Francoise is a gracious host who shares part of her home as access to either rental. We enjoyed our stay.
Close to the city but fes in the countr side, apartment and facilities are very good, and the host family is very welcoming and warm. Perfect place to enjoy this beautiful city.
Je suis ravie que vous vous soyez plu à la Laurentine !
Au plaisir de vous revoir lors d’un prochain voyage
Remarkable property overlooking the city
This property feels like it is in the country with a large lot but it is only minutes from everything. Only a short bus ride to Perrache station a hub for trams, trains and the metro. Lovely views over the city and river.
Thanks a lot ! Have a lovely Christmas !
Charming and welcoming house and hostess.
This charming one bedroom studio on the bottom level of this hillside establishment was cosy and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our one-week stay here. Francoise had provided plenty of goodies for our first breakfast and looked out for our comfort the entire week. This is the 12th Home Away we’ve stayed at and the 3rd in France. She is by far the best host yet. I think it makes a big difference when the owner is on the premises. There is a bus that can take you to the funicular and little shopping area of St. Just but we walked the half dozen blocks uphill every time. The funicular takes you down to the old Lyon area and from there we walked to most of the attractions. Uber, which we used a few times, is inexpensive, about 8 or 9 euros. The neighborhood of St. Just has a few very nice restaurants but we ate twice at La Marmaille which we highly recommend. We enjoyed a glass of wine and occasional lunch on our private patio. You get a great view of the city from a couple of places in the garden but some of the vegetation has grown too high and obstructs the view from the patio. Still it’s very sunny and pleasant. The walk to the apartment is equivalent to about four flights of stairs from street level. Part way down is a ramp that makes walking less difficult especially if you have bad knees like me. But I want to emphasize it’s a great place to stay. We will treasure our experiences there.
Thanks a lot ! It’s has been a pleasure to have you for a week at home
With my kind regards
The most peaceful beautiful place high on a hill in Upper Lyon. It’s very clean.
We loved it. Amazing views! Francoise is lovely and helpful. The cottage we stayed in is cosy and quaint. You should be fit as there are hills grass and pebbles to get your luggage through, but totally worth it! A half hour uphill walk for a Cafe, but also with it. Bus is just above the house and will take you right down to Centre. Or a 30 minute walk downhill. You can also walk uphill to funicular and take it to old town or across to Bellecour. Very clean place with most amenities needed. Only recommendation would be softer towels. The bed is comfy. Thanks for an awesome stay!
