Roomy apartment located just outside of Florence with good access to buses.

  • 3 of 5

We used the apartment as a base for our travels in Northern Italy and Florence. As we had a hire car it was important to have somewhere safe to park the vehicle. Views of Florence and the Duomo from the garden are stunning. For 4 mature travellers the apartment location was handy to local buses and the small village of Fiesole where we drove our car and found parking easier than Florence. Beware of narrow streets if you have a larger car, all villages in Italy have donkey tracks for roads. In Fiesole you can catch the No 7 bus to Florence and the Hop on Hop off bus tour from Piazza Mino, coffee was 1 Euro at Casa del Popolo which is located further up the hill. Casa del Popolo is run by volunteers who live in FIesole and provide inexpensive food every day for lunch and dinner on weekends only. It was lovely of the hosts to provide the apartment with basic staples like coffee, sugar, milk, bread etc and a welcome bottle of wine. We definitely recommend this accomodation to anyone wishing to locate themselves away from the bustle of Florence with a view of the Tuscan hills.

Owner's Response: We are very happy you appreciated our hospitality. When we first saw the score you assigned us, the lowest one we have ever had, we were afraid you hadn't felt comfortable in our apartment, but then we read the review, and we were reassured by your words. We suppose that you have applied different assesment criteria from those of our other guests, perhaps a yardstick similar to the one used to classify hotels. Thank you for your report. We hope to see you again.

Wonderful apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for my family: super clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were so happy to relax here after super intense day trips through Tuscany. Giuliana's hospitality is incredible and make us want to return again to Italy. I would not hesitate to recommend this charming apartment to anyone.

Florencia a los pies

  • 5 of 5

THE BEST !

  • 5 of 5

We were in Europe a month and stayed in numerous apartments and B&B's and this was by far the best. The view of the city of Florence was beyond description. Sitting on our own little private deck overlooking all the major sites was amazing. Worth every minute of the 15 to 20 min bus ride to center city. Bus runs every 20 minutes so never a problem. Apartment was large and equipped with everything we could possibly need, including a basket of fruit, a bottle of wine and enough food to get us started the next day. It was furnished with up to date appliances and furnishings and very clean. As I said, the best of many for this and a previous Europe trip and the price was more than fair.

Even Better than Staying in Florence City Center

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four, including children ages 8 & 4, very much enjoyed our stay at this great spot on the hillside above Florence!

Just a few minutes up the hill (nearest major piazza is Piazza Libertá), this apartment was a lovely and cool escape from the middle of the city. With a bedroom and a living room with foldout couch, it slept four comfortably. We really enjoyed the little garden area and patio with table & chairs – ate all our meals there. The option to be outside was a big consideration for us, with kids, and we were grateful to have it. One can see a gorgeous panorama of Florence and the hillside across the road, toward Fiesole.

While the bus stops are very conveniently located for getting into Florence center, we were glad we had a rented car to explore surrounding towns. (Parking in flat's driveway was free.) It took just 10 – 15 minutes from apartment door to any one of several parking garages, when we did use our car to go into town.

Giuliana and Fabio kindly prepare the kitchen with food and drink for the first days (very nice after a day of travel), and they were happy to consult with us on plans or give recommendations. Conveniences like Wi-Fi and washing machine were great!

We highly recommend this spot. Thank you, Giuliana and Fabio, for a lovely adventure.

Beautiful View of the City

  • 4 of 5

We loved staying in this apartment. The kitchen was well stocked with basics( milk, butter, bread, coffee, and a nice bottle of wine) when we came in thanks to Giuliana and Fabio. We walked about two blocks down a little hill catch the bus There is also a little market and you can catch the Duomo and the Ufizzi.
