About Jens Bachem
I grew up on and around Caragh Lake and recently moved back to this beautiful part of the world with my wife and eleven year old son. As a family we love the water. For years we've been sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding, mainly on reservoirs around London, but on a trip home mid 2015 the penny dropped - this place was heaven and it was time to move back. I'm originally German, moved to Ireland when I was a kid, lived in France for a number of years and for the past twenty have been in the UK, working in digital media. For us it's about the quality of life here - the great outdoors, fantastic food and time with friends and family. We feel incredibly lucky to be able to call this part of the world home and, whether at Bells Cottage, my parents' charming traditional Kerry farmhouse; Caragh Lake House, our large lakefront home which we recently renovated; or one of the other homes on and around Caragh Lake that we manage; we look forward to sharing this little bit of heaven with you.

Great house and host
So beautiful! House is exactly as advertised. Loved every minute in the house and visiting the Ring of Kerry towns. Jens and Michelle were very accommodating and helpful both before and during our stay. Thank you for some wonderful memories!

Swan family holiday
We had a great time at Caragh Lake house. The house was lovely and in a perfect location We tried out lots of the recommendations on the website for things to do and places to eat nearby and found them really good especially the local walks. Jens and Michelle were readily available should we have needed them but it shows how good the house was, that we never had to. All in all a wonderful family holiday in a house which had everything
Thank you so much for the kind review Will. It was an absolute pleasure to welcome you and your family at Caragh Lake House for the special occasion. We hope we keep in touch. Warm regards. Jens & Michelle
Loved our stay
Our family of 11 had an absolutely wonderful time at the lake house. The group included adults and teenagers and there was plenty of space for all. The patio and it’s view over the lake were fabulous. The house is very comfortable and Jens and Michelle were gracious hosts who were most helpful. And grocery deliveries from the Eurostar in Killorglin were so convenient.
Thank you Rosemary. It was lovely to welcome you all at Caragh Lake House. We hope we keep in touch. Warm regards from the lake. Michelle & Jens
Amazing winter escape
Was a great week away for christmas, they were so accomidating, even getting a larger table in and providing a tree and decorations.
Cant fault the place from amazing views, great decor, open fireplace.
The 'Aussie Orphans' really enjoyed our experience!
Thanks so much for the lovely review. It was a real pleasure having you all stay.
Hope to see you again some time.
All the very best for 2019.
Jens & Michelle
Lovely home, completely enjoyed our stay
Welcoming hosts and very good everything-comfortable beds, crisp sheets, decor is simple, looks elegant but not fussy. The view is superb, a pleasure to take in from the large windows. Despite active hiking and sightseeing plans, we found we took time to just watch the lake, the sky, and the garden as it slopes down to the shore. Thanks for a very fine stay!
Hi Renee. Thank you so much for your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure to have you stay at Caragh Lake House. We hope we keep in touch. Warm regards. Jens & Michelle
