Tastefully decorated and beautifully equipped 2 bedroom character cottage
About Dinah Hancock
I was born in Bradford-on-Avon and have lived here all my life. I now have the opportunity to share this great place with others and my aim is to provide high quality accommodation in a peaceful and tranquil location.
Dinah Hancock purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Dinah Hancock chose Bradford-on-Avon
The Old Chapel combines period charm with modern convenience in a really lovely location. It is located in a car free road ensuring total peace and quiet and a short walk from the centre of Bradford-on-Avon. The chapel is Grade II listed and built of the local stone with attractive arched 'ecclesiastical style' windows and exposed beams in the second bedroom. It benefits from facing south and enjoys sunshine throughout the day.
What makes this Cottage unique
This recent review from one of my guests I think sums up the Old Chapel perfectly! Beautifully clean, peaceful stay with charming character Bearfield Buildings, 2b, Bradford-on-Avon, BA15 1RP, United Kingdom Date of Stay 9 Nov 2018 We had one of our best ever stays - the property is exactly as shown in the photographs, immaculately clean everywhere and full of charm. The fresh flowers and hamper on arrival was a lovely touch along with fresh bread and milk/butter in the fridge. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of new pans, cutlery, mugs, glasses, knife set, spices, serving bowls and more. The beds were extremely comfortable with fresh towels and little shampoos/conditioners provided. The parking is not an issue because you can park for free on the main road (only a residential quiet road) and there were always spaces. The property is down a pathway just 1 minute walk away. You can walk into town very easily, just follow a straight path for about 10mins. There is also a small Coop nearby for groceries which was handy. We had such a peaceful stay and would not hesitate to return again. Thank you!

A wonderful discovery
We could not have been more pleased with the Chapel - it’s a perfect home away from home in a quintessentially English village.
The property was bright and very clean, and is compact but was well laid out. The Chapel has all of the essentials for a stay, with a great little shop only a short stroll away. The owner’s finishing touches were appreciated, and enhanced our experience.
There were any number of lovely walks from the cottage, with eating options either a short stroll or a decent leg stretch away. It was also enjoyable to sit in the wee courtyard, getting to know the wonderful neighbours in the street.
The walk down into town was a pleasure, with many wonderful photo opportunities and lovely discoveries to make, like a Saxon church, the Tithe barn, and the stroll along the canal.
The owner was extremely helpful and very responsive; we couldn’t fault her engagement in any way.
Parking was fine, even when an unusual amount of work was being undertaken in the area.
We will be certainly be back!
Cosy little cottage
Lovely cottage, home from home. Lovely furniture and bedding. Slight smell of damp when entering property but nonetheless an enjoyable stay
Thank you for your review. I am very sorry for the slight smell of damp. I have traced it back to a damp mop in the utility cupboard!
I can’t say enough about our stay in this lovely home! We felt absolutely at home and welcome. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 4. Our teenage children loved having their own space on the top floor. So many beautiful places to see within walking distance. Easy drive into town to take the train to Bristol. Great pub options in town or just around the corner. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Had a great long weekend, everything was really easy and thecottage was lovely, perfect for exploring Bradford-on-Avon and the surrounding area.
This cottage was picture perfect to stay in. Check in was a breeze and Dinah left us some food upon arrival. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay in the Bath area. We hope to come back again someday
Everything about our stay was first rate. From my first communication with Dinah to the charm of the former Baptist Chapel to the location in Bradford on Avon that put you within easy driving distance of so many wonderful sights. We totally enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend a stay here
The market town of Bradford-on-Avon is steeped in history dating back to Roman times. It owes much of its prosperity and beautiful architecture to the wool trade. Today visitors enjoy exploring the historic buildings, interesting shops, numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs which are scattered around the narrow streets. The Kennet and Avon canal which played an essential role in the wool trade now offers visitors the chance to walk, cycle, canoe or take a boat trip through the beautiful countryside.
