Enjoyable vacation in rural Languedoc
Jean-Claude and Maud have a wonderful property that backs up to the canal path. They are always on hand to help but are never intrusive. The kitchen is adequately equipped with a microwave and full-size stove and refrigerator. The two bedrooms are large and we slept very well there. As others have noted, Wifi can sometimes be spotty, but Jean Claude was able to solve any problems. It is a short drive to the center of historic Narbonne with its wonderful indoor Les Halles market, many shops and coffee houses. In the main square adjacent to the market there is a large underground parking garage where we were always able to find space. In the street next to Les Halles is a restaurant called A La Table Du Marche, which we particularly enjoyed. Be sure to make a reservation before going to the market, as it is very popular.
There is plenty to see in or near Narbonne: Castelnaudry, home of the famous cassoulet, Carcassonne, Gruisan, the Abbaye de Fontfroide and picturesque villages along the Canal du Midi are all short drives away. This is a great place to stay that is relaxingly rural, yet still in close proximity to some of the most interesting spots in Languedoc.
Languedoc offers many very tasty red wines - Corbieres, Fitou and Minervois were our favorites. Many thanks to Jean-Claude for the excellent bottle of Minervois that he gave to us. We enjoyed it!

Lovely peaceful setting next to the canal but not far from Narbonne.
Great location for cycling and walking along canal de la robine. A great restaurant 15 minute walk away and Narbonne about 45 minute walk. Owners friendly and helpful and the fruit from the garden and bottle of wine was a nice touch. Thank you Maude and Jean Claude.

Moody madame. Hot house with mosquitoes
No fan, no air con, no mosquito nets, no towels, no washing line, no pump for bikes, no welcome from surly madame. Garden a mess. Suggest you visit some of your properties before advertising them
We had a lovely holiday and this was a perfect location. Cycling along the Canal into Narbonne town centre was really easy and only took about 15 mins. M and Mme Bedora were really friendly and helpful, even giving us loads of freshly picked strawberries from their field. Plenty to see and visit in the surrounding area including the castles at Lastours, Carcassonne, the salt pans nearby at Gruissan to name but a few. Several beaches nearby and our favourite was at Leucate about half an hour or so in the car. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your nice appreciation we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay at home we look forward to see you
again at Conil

Beautiful peaceful holiday
My wife and I spent two delightful weeks at this property in Narbonne. The property is self contained , very clean and has a beautiful peaceful garden. The property is shaded by trees and so does not get too warm in the summer heat. We particularly enjoyed having evening meals on the well positioned table and sunshade outside the property. . It was a joy to hear the varied birdsong each day.
The owners of the property were extremely pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to assist us when our airline lost our baggage for three days. They even offered to provide a change of clothes and we greatly appreciated their assitance on this matter. Bikes were also provided at the property whcih allowed us to cycle for many miles along the shaded canal. We also walked into the centre of Narbonne which is just over a kilometre from the property. There are many good eating places in Narbonne and we were lucky enough to be visiting Narbonne cathedral when there was an impromptu performance on the massive church organ. The Narbonne beaches are simply wonderful , safe and extremely clean. We also visited numerous chateaus in the area and many of these are simply spectactular.
To summarise, this property is a good peaceful place to stay and is ideal for visting the area.
Thank you your message we were also very happy to meeet you you were very friendly too it a was a good opportunity for us to appreciate scottish people end their good sense of humeur !!!

Relaxing cottage among the vineyards next to the Canal de la Robine
Jean-Claude and Maud have a wonderful property that backs up to the canal path. The kitchen is nicely equipped with a microwave and full-size stove and refrigerator. The two bedrooms are large and we slept very well there. We rode the bikes provided and walked several times along the historic canal path. Wifi can sometimes be spotty, but Jean Claude was unrelenting in his efforts to improve that! It is a 10 minute drive from the center of Narbonne with its majestic (if unfinished) cathedral, great Les Halles market, and many shops, and you could walk there on the canal path if you wished. There is plenty to see in or near Narbonne; Carcassonne, Gruisan, and the Abbaye de Fontfroide are all short drives away. This is great place to stay that is relaxingly rural, yet still in close proximity to some of the most interesting spots in Languedoc.
thanks for your kind apppreciation we are very happy that you enjoyed your visit home and we wished to see you again at conil it was a real pleasure for us to meet americain people from chicago we love very much America it is a great nation !!!
