About James Garrett
I enjoy travelling with my wife. I am a keen sports fan (football, cricket, rugby mainly). I think of myself as a bit of a music buff, although my wife often thinks otherwise! We enjoy the cinema, dining out, long walks in the country and spending time with friends. We welcome people who will respect our property.
James Garrett purchased this Apartment in 2015
Why James Garrett chose Redcliffe
Our flat is incredibly convenient for whatever brings you to Bristol. Businesspeople will be close to the location of their meetings, lawyers are less than 10 minutes' walk from the courts. Sightseers are just a few minutes from the historic harbour with its many memorials to the great engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We are close to great restaurants and bars, as well as the theatres and cinemas.
What makes this Apartment unique
However you travel to Bristol, this is a very convenient base. If you arrive by car, you may use our private parking space. If you come by public transport, the flat is located 5-10 minutes walk from Temple Meads railway station and 15 minutes on foot from the bus and coach station.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Perfect location, clean, quiet and comfortable
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Bristol at this perfectly located flat. James was very helpful communicating with us in a timely way to ensure that all our questions were addressed. The flat was perfect for our needs. Clean and quiet and easy to get in/out being located on the ground floor of an area with a small number of apartments. Lots of restaurants nearby. Would love to come back and stay here again next time visiting Bristol!
Fantastic property close to everything you need
I stayed at this property for a little over 2 weeks. Right from the get-go my communication with James was easy. He was a wonderful host and a real pleasure to meet and deal with. Upon my arrival James was very welcoming with a warm smile and handshake, explained everything to me clearly, and even provided me a loaf of bread, milk, and butter which, for a weary traveller, were all things I appreciated.
You really couldn't ask for a better property. James and his wife have decorated the place very tastefully and provide you with all the necessary tools you'll need so you'll never feel wanting. I cooked a good number of meals there and all the necessary cookery was provided. I washed and dried my clothing with no issues. The shower was easy to use, and the bed was very comfortable. There was even a parking space provided. What more could you ask for?
The location is, frankly, perfect if you're a tourist in Bristol. You're a short walk to the centre one way, and a short walk to the main shopping area, Cabot Circus, the other way. There is also a little Co-Op convenience store right around the corner making your daily shop an easy one.
The area itself is a very safe one and I never felt nervous as a single woman travelling alone, walking around this area at night.
If you're looking for a fantastic place to stay in beautiful Bristol, you should definitely book this property with James. A well-deserved 5 stars!
Thank you James!
How lovely of you to review the flat so generously! Could I employ you to market it, please?! Seriously, I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much and hope that, if you return to Bristol, you'll choose to stay there again.
Lovely flat in great city centre location
Great location 5 mins from the Harbourside and with the added bonus of free parking. The flat is attractively decorated and in excellent condition. Only criticism would be the uncomfortable seating esp. the settee.
Thanks for the review, John. I'm sorry you found the settee uncomfortable but I'd say your finding is atypical and subjective. We had a guest staying in the flat for two months through February and March; he had no problem with the furniture. Personally, I'm waiting for a replacement hip yet I can get on and off the settee without trouble and find it perfectly comfortable to sit on. I'm not saying that your finding is irrelevant but it's not one I've heard before.
Lovely flat, great location & helpful hosts
This is an absolutely lovely flat, very tastefully decorated and with little touches that make it feel like home. All the mod cons make staying here for an extended period of time, as well as for a short time, an absolute pleasure. James & Susan are so helpful, and very quick to respond to any questions or queries you have. Thanks so much!
David was a model guest. Over a lengthy stay of two months he looked after the flat well. He communicated well and was patient while a problem with the hot water was fixed. We would have no problem recommending him to other hosts.
clean and cosy apartment, great location
Although the apartment was well appointed, the WiFi was not working as advertised. No alternative, such as an offer to pay for another provider was extended. I paid for one myself. The owner let us know that the WiFi would be attended to after our stay.
Adele & Brian stayed at the flat for two nights and it was very unfortunate that the wifi didn't work during that time. I discovered the problem just before letting them in; the problem was subsequently found to be the router, which has been replaced. There is no longer an issue.
Was it necessary to award the flat only three stars out of five solely because of a lack of wifi? What about the comfortable bed, well-appointed sitting area, bathroom and kitchen?!
In truth, the relationship between us never really got off the ground. Adele & Brian went to the wrong address, even though I had clearly told them the location of our flat. When we eventually met up, over an hour later, Brian wanted me to assume responsibility; I didn't and I fear the rating reflects the frostiness which developed then (albeit not helped by the temporary lack of wifi).
Central Bristol teems with memorials to the genius of the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The Clifton Suspension Bridge, floating harbour, SS Great Britain and Temple Meads railway station are all either a short walk, ferry or bus ride away.
The city's historic harbourside has stunning views, numerous bars and restaurants and regular festivals throughout the summer.
The 250 year old Theatre Royal, Hippodrome and cinemas are all within a 15min walk.
