FAIR HARBOR (APRIL to OCTOBER) Weeks & Weekends. IT IS MAGICAL !!!!
About Lisa LaRocca
I am a lifelong Fire Islander. My family and I have enjoyed Fire Island Summers for over 30 years. It is a place to come together and un-wind. I grew up on the South Shore, traveled extensively, lived abroad and lived in NYC for over 20 years. I currently reside in Nassau County on the North Shore. While the Long Island Sound is beautiful, it does not compare to Fire Island. There is little doubt that salt-air and the Atlantic Ocean keeps us firmly grounded on this Island. It is Mayberry.

Why Lisa LaRocca chose Fair Harbor
Our home is a family place and we cherish it. It is a true cozy beach cottage nestled in one of the most desirable towns on Fire Island. Locals and Celebrities alike enjoy this incredibly diverse sophisticated community. We happily exist together amongst our neighbors, friends and families. We congregate at the dock to toast the Sunset on Summer evenings. We host the Pine Walk Fair on 4th of July and we celebrate the Labor Day Parade. We also invite our neighbors for Pancake breakfasts, movie nights and Bingo at our Firehouse. Some people call Fair Harbor "Mayberry" ...and we like it that way.
What makes this House unique
Fair Harbor is an amazing community. It is a place where parents and children roam safely free on bikes, wagons and walking on the beach with others who share the same love of peace, quiet and nature. There are many good reasons why so many people flock to Fair Harbor. IT IS IN THE DNA !

This property was exactly as advertised. It was charming, clean, a great location, and perfect for our family getaway.
Exactly as described and pictured
Our stay was bordering on flawless. The home is exactly as pictured and described. I really can't imagine anything that would have made our visit substantively better. We loved Fire Island so much that we're planning to return for a week after Labor Day and for 2 weeks or a month next year. If you've never been to Fire Island then stop reading this and just GO.
Fair Harbor is a family-oriented community of approximately 400 homes located in the western end of Fire Island situated between Saltaire and Dunewood. Most of the residents use their homes as week-end and vacation havens during the months of April to November. There are also several Fair Harbor families who reside on the Island year round. Summer and year round residents alike are deeply attached to the Island and third generation Fair Harbor families are very common. Many extended families own more than one house, as children and grand-children grow up to and come back to enjoy Fair Harbor summers with their own families.
