Perfect for a week's visit to Budapest.
Located just at the Pest end of the Elizabeth bridge the apartment is ideally located to access all parts of the old city center. Whilst most of the sights are within easy walking distance, even for two geriatrics, two of the Metro line stations, M3 and M2, a major bus stop, a tram stop and a river boat dock are all in the immediate vicinity. All Budapest transport facilities are free for 65+ travelers and no authorization procedure or document is required other than a picture ID with date of birth. Similarly entry to museums is also free on the same age basis.
The apartment itself is a very secure, although we had the strong impression that there is little crime in the city compared to just about any Western European capital- perhaps attributable to the homogeneous composition of the population.
Located on the second floor of a baroque palace- really an apartment block with an inner courtyard- it is accessed by lift or stairs and entered through a small vestibule which it shares with another apartment owned by the same person. It has been recently renovated and furnished in a modern minimalist style, and is air conditioned. The layout comprises a large en suite bedroom with massive storage, a comfortable lounge/ dining area with an attached powder room and a small but very well designed and fully equipped kitchen, which we used only for breakfast as Budapest has a plethora of restaurants of all types with excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices. Services include cable TV , which we did not use, and very fast and stable wi fi broadband. The property manager ,Stefano, arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport, was at the apartment to greet us and could not have been more helpful or informative.
In all we can thoroughly recommend this unit for a couple ( plus two small children would not be a problem) for a visit to this delightful city, similar in character to Vienna, Prague and Bratislava, all former centers of the Austrian Hungarian empire which reached it's baroque zenith in their late 1800s berore collapsing in the aftermath of World War One.
The building was centrally located. Great location.
Apartment was renovated and it had everything but a dryer. Owner states it has a dryer but it is a drying rack. It is a bath and a half and that is very helpful. Would stay there again.
Beautiful Apartment, wonderful people!
We so enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The courtyard is so romantic and the apartment so modern, comfortable, and well equipped, as well as very, very clean. So nice to have the extra half bathroom! The location is terrific to get to everything--we enjoyed walking to the Central Market to get fruits and vegetables, and to the Chain Bridge for the lovely views. Many nice restaurants not far away, either. Luca made it all very easy for us--greeting us at the apartment, showing us how to use everything, and we felt very well cared for. The apartment was also very comfortable even when it was quite hot outside. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
Thank you very much for your kind review.
You are always welcome.

Week stay in Budapest
An overall comfortable place to stay. On Kossuth Lajos, a few blocks back from the Elisabeth Bridge. Even though on very noisy street apartment far enough in the back where you can't here traffic. Very walkable to most areas. Ferenciek Tere metro station is nearby, Astoria metro is near in the other direction. Stayed for a full week but I think 4-5 days max is all you need. Giovanni was helpful in setting up transfer from apartment to the airport. Small grocery close, lots of restaurants close by, never felt unsafe the whole week.
However, some things that would be VERY helpful.
More towels! My husband and I were only left with 2 hand towels (one for each bathroom & no soap in one bathroom) , one bath towel for each of us, and one kitchen towel. No washcloths, no extra towel for my hair (long and thick so it needs a towel) If you are planning on going to one of the thermal baths bring extra towels or you will have to rent them there as there aren't any extras here!
Directions on how to use the washing machine and espresso/coffee machine. As an American, these are different than what we have here. Took us 3 loads of clothes before we finally figured it out (BTW no dryer everything has to be air dried but drying rack in apartment).
Written suggestions on local places to eat would have been nice. Giovanni named some suggestions when asked but we could only remember a couple.
Explanation on the train, tram, bus system. We have used public transportation in Spain, NYC, Washington DC, Chicago, etc and it took us several days to figure it out and even then the bus system was still confusing.
comfortable, easy access, the BEST
Luca is amazing and has beautiful apartments/flats. He bends over backwards to make your stay the very best. The building is beautiful, once belonging to the Dreher family. We walked everywhere because the building is close to the pedestrian street(Vaci Utca), elizabeth bridge, easy access to groceries, restaurants, subway, and the city is safe. The apt was perfect in every way. I highly recommend this apt as well as any place operated by Luca as the best place to stay! Thank you Luca
Great apartment in the perfect location.
We loved the apartment, it was perfect for my husband and myself. The A/C was wonderful after touring all day in +36 degrees. We had flight delays on our departure, Luca was extremely helpful.
