2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Cabin with Lake Views
John & Denise Grey
Why John & Denise Grey chose Anaconda
My mother grew up in Anaconda and my Grandfather worked at the Smelter. As kids my brother and I came to visit our grandparents during the summer and always enjoyed the small town atmosphere. We own the house my mother grew up in and my grandfather built on Locust street in town. We decided to purchase the cabin at the lake so we could vacation and eventually spend more time here when we retire.
What makes this Cabin unique
Georgetown Lake is one of Montana’s premier blue ribbon fisheries offering nearly year round angling for trophy rainbow and brook trout and kokanee salmon. Georgetown Lake and the surrounding mountains also provide excellent hunting. Elk, and both species of deer are the most desired. There are also permits for black bear, wolf, mountain lion, antelope and lottery drawings for sheep and moose. There are three golf courses close to Georgetown Lake. Fairmont Hot Springs Resort has an 18 hole par 72, 6742 yard course. Anaconda Country Club is a 9 hole course that is open to the public with bargain prices for membership and for green fees for non-members. Old Works Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus signature course that has been repeatedly named by industry publications as one of the top rated public courses in the country.

A great jumping off spot for the region
Great vacation home, very comfortable and a perfect jumping off spot for all our adventures in the area. We enjoyed our three days and the great views of the mountains and lake. We saw plenty of wildlife in the area including three moose, a small black bear and plenty of deer.
Wonderful views of the lake and wildlife!
This place has awesome views of Georgetown Lake and local wildlife. We spent all our time on the balcony. The first day we saw a female moose and her twin calves, the next day deer, the next day a fox......and we were in heaven. The wildlife pass within 30 ft of the balcony. The house was just as it was pictured. It can get warm during the summer months so we took two fans and were comfortable (then the temps dropped and we turned on the fireplace). I thought mosquitos would be an issue so close to the lake, but it wasn't. Our Honda Accord made it up the steep drive without an issue. The owners were great to work with when we had an unexpected death in the family and had to shift our arrival date. Note: a mountain lion walked passed our front door. This was the hi-light of our trip, but please use common sense around wildlife. Second, this place does allow pets so if you are allergic you might want to reconsider. Though it had been cleaned, there were significant fur balls inside and on the balcony. We swept them out and were fine. Overall, we loved our stay, have some great pictures and plan to return.
Clean, quiet, affordable
We were looking for a place to land after driving from out-of-state and before embarking on a backpacking trip in the Pintlers. This was the perfect spot. It is exactly as advertised - not extravagant, but clean, cozy and well-stocked in a quiet area. The owners were easy and enjoyable to work with.
Grey’s cabin is a little gem tucked into the mountains with a great view of the lake. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the sun rise and the sun set over the lake, watching wildlife walk by the cabin, and spending time together as a family playing and fishing at the lake. John and Denise are wonderful to work with, and they are continually making improvements to their place. This was our second stay at Grey’s cabin and it was perfect! Thanks John and Denise!!
We enjoyed our stay. Everything worked out well for our family.
The Lakeview Cabin was nice. The mornings were so quiet and peaceful out on the deck.
The only suggestion would be more pans for cooking. We cook big breakfasts and the pans were a little sad but we made do with what we had.
The house was perfect for us. Huge porch with great barbecue. Never made it out to dinner with the great views didn't want to. Kitchen was stocked well. Enjoyed walking dogs down to lake for evening sunsets and dog swims. The neighborhood was perfect for walking dogs around. Very quiet. Just 2 of us, but kids would enjoy it too. The only problem we had trash was full outside when we arrived and started to smell had to move it and no room for our trash.
