About Janice Martin
Retired couple who just finished a historic remodel, plus new 'casita' guest house.
Janice Martin purchased this Bungalow in 2012
Why Janice Martin chose Downtown Phoenix
We choose to move to this area phoenix because we like the location being so close to downtown phoenix. We totally remodeled an older historic home, leaving all the charm of the original property.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Casita is walking distance to the Heard, and Phoenix Art Museums and the Encanto Light rail stop. Our backyard features a nice sitting area for coffee, cocktails or dining.

First Ever VRBO
Great little Casita! Janice decorates it so cute. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location/property for our Phoenix visit
Janice's compact studio casita was excellent for our 3-day visit to Phoenix. The location is hard to beat as it is 2 short blocks from a light rail train (LRT) station as well as the Heard Museum. Given that we did not have a car for this trip, this location gave us easy access to many visitor destinations in the Phoenix area. With the casita located in a nice residential neighborhood on the edge of the downtown area, restaurants, brew pubs and other venues were either within walking distance or just a few LRT stops away. The casita itself is not particularly spacious but quite comfortable and more than adequate for using it as a 'home base' from which to go out and visit the area and the patio made a wonderful breakfast location. Those wanting to do more elaborate meal-making might find it challenging, but that wasn't part of our plans. Communication with Janice was excellent throughout the process, and we really appreciated her flexibility in allowing us to store our luggage on-site after check-out. All-in-all, the casita met all of our needs for our Phoenix visit. Thanks!
Thank you Bill for the nice review. Your right the casita it is not well suited for a long term rental, but glad you were comfortable. Love to have you back anytime.
cute, clean, comfortable and convenient
The 4 "c's" above add up to a definite A+. The casita is in a very nice neighborhood and in a very convenient location to downtown....Heard Museum, Herberger Theater, Heritage Village and restaurants. For restaurants, we would recommended Wally's and Keegan's ( a little bit of a drive) and Oven and Wine (a pub, just a 3 minute walk). There is a very pretty yard, with table and chairs for eating out or just soaking up the sun. I must add that the kitchenette is very minimalistic, so I wouldn't count on doing much cooking....but, there is a grill available. (Wish there had been some basics like salt and pepper and sugar). However, Janice and Charlie are wonderful hosts, and will help you out with anything you may need (like a can opener, as I did) Overall, it was a great place for 2, and I would definitely recommend it!!!
Thank you for the nice review. Charlie and I enjoyed having you and Bob stay with us.
You are correct that the casita is not set up for cooking. Im sorry if you didnt see that in the description, and we failed to meet your needs.

.Loved this little Casita. Very quiet and quaint. High quality linens and very comfortable bed. The neighborhood is charming and close to everything one needs. The hosts are attentive but very unobtrusive to their guests. Can’t say enough about how great this vacation rental is.
