We had a wonderful stay at Mellingray Cottage. The cottage is 'comfie' and well equipped with stunning views all around. The ultimate 'wind-down'. Enjoyed a morning and evening dip in the hot tub which was perfect. Great base for exploring. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
Very impressed. We had everything we could ever need and the property was better than most.
Great hospitality. Rebecca and Tim are very nice people who really care. The property is excellent, the views are stunning and we would definitely recommend a stay there. We will be back !
The Best of North Cornwall
While the weather was not all that could have been hoped for, everything else was ! A lovely welcome, nothing too much trouble for the owners, peaceful surroundings, lovely countryside.
Beautiful and cozy. Well equipped with everything you need..
We arrived on Saturday early, which after contacting Rebecca was not a problem. On arrival Rebecca showed us around and presented a wonderful basket of goodies including a complete cream tea and clotted cream cookies.
The cottage is in a beautiful setting with open views across the fields. It was fascinating watching the resident Barn owl hunting at dusk. When things became a bit chilly in the evening the wood burner soon revived our spirits.
In the early evening, after being out all day, the Hot Tub was fantastic. Again sitting there watching the wild life was very relaxing.
We totally recommend the cottage. With its WiFi ( which Tim worked his magic for us) and it's setting is superb. We will definitely make a note to return. 10 out of 10 . We are keeping this one on our secret getaway list.
Wonderful and relaxing !!
Arrived to a warm welcome by Rebecca & Tim who showed us around the cottage and how to work the hot tub. The cottage was beautifully furnished and in a lovely setting where each evening we could see the barn owl fly out for its prey; watch deer emerge from the woods and into adjacent fields; see various species of birds and the local pheasant who constantly knocked at all the windows - which kept the dogs entertained for hours!!!! Dogs loved their runs in the local woods and although we mostly catered for ourselves, we had a lovely meal at the Wainhouse Inn just 15 minutes away. We would definitely book this cottage again but perhaps a long winter weekend away so we could make use of the fantastic woodburner!
Fantastic,quiet little cottage.
Rebecca and Tim are great hosts, very friendly and helpful, we took a wrong turn, called to get directions for the last little bit of the journey straight away Tim said I'll come and get you. When we got to the cottage he said I will leave you with Rebecca to show you around. Rebecca showed us around the cottage took us outside to explain the hot tub and then left us to get on with our holiday. On leaving us she said if you need anything just knock call or text. They had left us a cream tea, coffee and milk as a little gift on arrival. We had a fantastic week there so peaceful and relaxing. There is a fantastic view over the fields, there were three large deer that kept appearing on the field at the top of the hill, a rather friendly pheasant that comes to the cottage and pecks on the window and a pair of Canadian geese that were swimming on the lake with 5 babies. You can sit in the hot tub and watch the horses through the trees. I'm sorry to be rambling on in this review but we had such a great week I can't praise Rebecca, Tim or the cottage enough. A massive thank you to them both and if we are ever down that way again we will definitely be returning.
