French countryside & Castle charm
We had the most amazing time staying at Chateau Auribail. Our son was married in the little church next door so the location was perfect. The Castle is full of history and charm and sleeps 15 adults adequately. We enjoyed the pool everyday and eating breakfast and supper outside under the trees or on the terrace. Our friends and family loved going for walks, runs and visiting the near by towns for fresh baguettes and croissants. The kitchen was fully equipped. The instructions on how to use the stove top, oven and expresso machine could not be found so we had to figure it out ourselves. All good but recommend instructions be more handy. The owner was very helpful in answering all of my questions by email as some of the information was not found online. The Chateau requires alot of maintenance to keep it clean and free of dust and cobwebs. Bathrooms and toilets are limited so everyone has to share. The bedroom on the ground floor does not have easy access to a toilet or a shower. The toilet on the ground level is leaking and should be repaired as the pot collecting the dripping water fills everyday and has to be emptied.
Overall, we loved staying here and highly recommend it to people who want to experience the charm and novelty of staying in an old historic castle. It was a perfect gathering place for our friends and family. There are many doors and entrances into the castle so locking up requires time and attention. The owner gave us a contact number to call in case we had any problems. We had no issues. The experience was incredible. We felt relaxed and comfortable in this setting away from the city traffic and noise.
Everything you want from a rural French retreat
Beautiful rustic chateau. So much room. Ameniable hosts. Would definitely return.
Loved Chateau Auribail
Chateau Auribail is an amazing place - beautiful house, lovely spacious grounds, great atmosphere, and very peaceful. The house is really well equipped, with lots of space for big groups of people. David and Ilhame made us feel really welcome, with lots of tips before we arrived, and were lovely when we met them at the beginning and end of our stay. We'll be back!
The castle Auribail is 35 minutes from the center of Toulouse and its airport. The surrounding village consists of habitats scattered over several dozen hectares, with no real center apart from the castle, the church and the adjoining former farm. In the North, Toulouse, the pink city, the most dynamic city in France in 2009, is an exceptionally rich architectural heritage. In the East, the Lauragais (the land of plenty), crossed by the Canal du Midi and dominated by Black Mountain. In the South, Ariege, the Arize basin and Maz d'Azil cave. In the southwest, the valley of Lèze with many small medieval villages like Lezat, Saint-Sulpice Beaumont.
