Why Mrs J Cooper chose Falmouth
Captain Upton's Cottages are just a few steps away from all that Falmouth has to offer. At the top of Upton Slip is the main shopping street, with many main stream high street stores, as well as local independent craft shops. A great selection of restaurants and bars are also within easy walking distance, notably "The Wheelhouse" seafood restaurant (#1 restaurant in Falmouth - according to Trip Advisor and our particular favourite!) - who are happy to deliver to your door if you haven't booked a table! The harbourside is literally 10 paces from our front gate, at the bottom of the slip! Free allocated parking is available close by, but offloading of luggage can be done a few feet away in Church Street Car Park. if you wish to keep the car there, the cost is currently circa £8 per day.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is one of two 17th Century buildings which are noted as the oldest residential properties (with the exception of Arnewack House) in Falmouth. The "Lookout" on the top floor, gives a spectacular view over the harbour.

Very clean and bright. Easy access to everything around Falmouth. Short drives to all things southwest Cornwall !
This is a fantastic cottage, conveniently situated between the town and the harbour. Beautifully presented, really comfy beds and spotless throughout when we arrived. A lovely thought to leave fresh bread, milk for us and chocolate for our son on arrival! We really enjoyed our stay and wished it had been longer. We loved watching the harbour activities from 'The Lookout'. Every modern convenience in the very spacious kitchen and very comfortable sofas in the lounge upstairs. My son was very impressed with Netflix! When we first booked Joyce (the owner) phoned us which was a really nice touch and kept us up to date with everything before we arrived. What a beautiful property which we will hopefully be returning to before long. Thanks Joyce for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.
Great location, cottage very clean and comfortable, would definitely stay again.
Comfortable and convenient
This was the second time we had stayed at Capt Upton's cottage and it didn't disappoint. The cottage is well equipped and is very comfortable. It's very central and everything is within easy reach, including the excellent Wheelhouse restaurant next door. The availability of a parking space nearby is also extremely helpful and would be vital in high season. Joyce was incredibly helpful and responsive both before and after the stay and I hope we will be staying here again in the future.
Perfect cottage in lovely location
I booked Captain Upton’s cottage for my 80 year old parents and joined them for part of the week whilst visiting my son at the local University. A beautifully renovated cottage with all you could need for a comfortable stay. Right in the heart of Falmouth close to all the cafes and shops and yet tucked away in a really private and quiet spot. Highly recommended. Thank you for sharing your home Joyce and thank you for the ease of communication with any queries.
Really lovely little cottage perfect for the four of us.
We have had lovely stay at Captain Uptons Cottage. We booked it for our daughters 21 Birthdat weekend as she is at University in Penryn. The Cottage was perfect for our family of four adults. It is beautifully presented and in the perfect position. We weren’t blessed with lovely weather, but the cottage was cosy and comfortable. The only problem we had was parking and this was only because the main road through town was closed due to relaying the cobbles. I think it is due to open again in April. This meant that the car park that we could have used right near to the cottage was closed. However Joyce the owner made this clear to us from the start and we took the cottage anyway. Joyce gave us very clear information and directions and answered all our queries promptly. She also made sure we had champagne flutes and candles for my daughters birthday which was very kind. I would happily rent the cottage again and would love to come back in the summer in warmer and dryer weather.
