Superb Scandinavian-style house, built on a hot slab covered with slate, the house is warm and cozy in winter and cool in summer. Located near activities, bars and shops and yet well surrounded by forest in a quiet and peaceful location.
The house includes a full kitchen with gas stove, wood stove, large terrace with BBQ and outdoor fire area. Each House to his own bathroom and private terrace. WiFi internet access
We loved our stay, the log home is perfect, it's tastefully decorated, very comfortable, the best wood stove I've ever seen; heated floors throughout. We had a nice snow storm one day which added to the beauty of the location. There is so much to do in the area; skiing, X country skiing, hiking, dog sledding, skating, horse back riding, good shopping; great French restaurants ( Seb l'artisan culinaire was fantastique!)
The home's country location is very private and peaceful and only 10 km away from Mont-Tremblant ski hill and the quaint village of Saint Jovite. It's was great to get away from the crowds in the village. The fully equipped kitchen is a little tight but with the open concept it doesn't seem that way. The iron "tractor seat" bar stools are very stylish but slightly uncomfortable. The owners Jacques and Marie-Helene are very nice and helpful and live only a stones throw away.
We were there for 6 nights and we did not want to leave. My wife and I plan on returning in the summer to play the championship golf courses nearby.
Merci Jacques & Marie-Helene!
We absolutely loved staying here! The cabin is newly built, so has the benefit of being clean and up to date, but with all the charm of a traditional log cabin. There was plenty of room for two couples. The decor was lovely; the showers were hot and powerful; the kitchen was very well stocked. The cabin is located on a large area of land which is surrounded by forest - we saw many birds, deer and other small wildlife. It really made us feel very far away from the city - just what we needed! We were able to cook whatever we wanted in the kitchen. On this occasion we did not get a chance to use the fire pit, but did very much enjoy reading books on the outside patio while enjoying the peace and quiet. Jacques also recommended a great local cafe which we went back to several times! Overall, this was a wonderful VRBO experience - we will definitely be back.
I booked this chalet for a family getaway to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. I was hoping for something special, and this rental was absolutely perfect. The lay-out was ideal for us (me, my husband, our infant son and my mother), with a great common area but also plenty of space to relax on your own. The central area had a beautiful, very well stocked kitchen which opened to a very comfortable living/dining room. The two bedrooms exited off either side of the common room, so that my mom had a bedroom and bathroom on one end and we had the same on the other - perfect for a bit of privacy and for traveling with a toddler. The kitchen and bathroom had high end finishes and the showers were fabulous - I didn't want to come home :). While the chalet is not on the water we knew this when booking and were actually happy to not have to worry about my son escaping. Instead, the front of the chalet opens to a private field with a view of mountains, and the back has a great set up with outdoor dining table and fire pit. The chalet is a bit out of town but we really appreciated the peace and quiet of the setting, and it was a pretty ~20 minute drive to the national park and ~15 minutes into the village - we had no problems doing both in one day. We stopped at Parc Omega on our drive to Tremblant; on our full-day in Tremblant we spent the morning hiking a mountain and had a picnic at a beach in the park; and then toured the village and took the gondola up the ski hill in the afternoon. Both nights we ate in, taking advantage of the open space for our toddler to run around while we had a bbq and wine. Marie-Helene was very responsive to our booking and was gracious to allow us to check-in a bit early when we made good timing getting to Tremblant. She offered to be available if we needed anything during our stay but the chalet was so well appointed that we didn't end up needing anything from her. My mom loved her birthday weekend, and it made all us want to buy a cottage exactly like this. The chalet is beautiful - modern but warm, the location is gorgeous, and the service was great. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone and hope to be back! Thanks Marie-Helene for a perfect getaway!
It is very difficult to describe how amazing this log home is; we wanted to have a true Canadian experience and we got it. This was our first time booking through any website like Homeaway, as we have always stayed in hotels when we travel, so we were a little bit nervous; however, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed by choosing to stay here. The owners, Jacques and Marie-Helene, are extremely nice, easygoing and helpful; they will answer any questions you have about the cabin and its surroundings. They gave us very good ideas about where to go for hikes and I am very glad that we took their advice. The cabin is just perfect! extremely clean and every detail had been covered. The location is beautiful, very private, and close enough to the village and the ski resort where we could get anything we wanted in terms of food and entertainment. It was just the perfect mix. I can't say enough good things about our experience, we fell in love with it. We were also lucky enough that their private pond froze over, and we managed to ice skate in that beautiful and quiet setting.
Also, one of us had mobility issues, and this cabin is ideal for anyone who may be in a wheelchair, easy access, wide doors, ample spaces, walk-in showers, easy access to car...
We wish them lots of success and we will definitely go back to enjoy a different season.
I think the first sign that it was a great long weekend was the fact that the kids didn't want to leave! Jacques and Marie are the ultimate host and hostess! The property is brand new, immaculate and very well organized! The kitchen is every cook's dream kitchen and they have thought of every possible little thing that you could ever want! The log cabin is far enough from the hustle and bustle of the village to feel very private and secluded yet at the same time it is only about a 10-15 minute drive to the Mt. Tremblant village center and other various activities. My kids loved the large yard to run around and play in and my oldest son didn't want to leave the neighbor's dog whom he played fetch with every afternoon! The kids were also so excited about checking the chicken coop daily for eggs! The outdoor fire pit was perfect for our "smore's marshmallow party" and provided a great way to spend the evening! It was these little things that made an ordinary vrbo rental extraordinary! Thanks again Jacques and Marie for providing such a lovely home for our Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The memories we made there at your property will surely last a lifetime!
:D Xx
