A three minute walk straight out the front door puts you standing on a beautiful white sandy beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful historic Victorian home built in 1900 situated on Second Street in a very established and charming neighborhood graced by lovely plantings including camellias and numerous towering live oaks.
This neighborhood affords the opportunity for great walks with your family or your dog. This home has been completely updated and features the original high ceilings and heart pine floors. A wrap around porch with wicker furniture and a double 'love' swing greet newcomers as they ascend the front porch.
The front door opens to a spacious living room with plenty of seating and television for entertaining. To the left are French doors that open to a lovely front reading room abundant with windows and natural light allowing house guests to get lost in their favorite novel. This room with hard pine flooring and high ceiling is furnished with antiques and tiffany lamps. The cozy couch opens up to a queen sized bed for your invited guests. The oversized formal dining room has a built-in cabinet with hard pine flooring and high ceiling. A wonderful setting to 'wine and dine' your family and guests.
The main floor has two bedrooms each with a queen sized bed and adjoining bathroom. The staircase leads to a separate bedroom upstairs with bathroom. The upstairs bedroom has numerous windows. The beckoning beach and beautiful Gulf of Mexico can be seen in the distance. The room is furnished with two queen beds. A perfect room for a couple with kids or a place for all the kids. Two of the bedrooms have their own TV.
The kitchen is a full sized kitchen including an island with stools and a dining table. The kitchen is the centerpiece of the house and its beauty will pleasantly surprise you. The kitchen's back door opens onto a very spacious wood deck as well as a brick patio both fully furnished with furniture as well as a gas grill. A very beautiful and spacious backyard with live oaks and copious amounts of shade await your coming. The property spans four city lots and therefore has plenty of room for parking vehicles for 'Cruisin' the Coast' and for your boat and trailer or camper.
Downtown Gulfport is a short walk away. If you enjoy long walks the ISLAND VIEW CASINO RESORT is also within walking distance. The gaming destinations along this 26 mile beach are second only to Vegas.
The 26 mile long beach is a gorgeous beach to explore with numerous wharfs, beach activities, shopping, beachcombing, and restaurants. Biloxi with its numerous casinos is just a few minutes away by car, bike or the local transportation.
The beach is home to the charming, small southern towns of Long Beach, Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis which are great for shopping for antiques. The area has over 20 golf courses including one of the 'top ten' public golf courses in the country. The casinos and Biloxi coliseum offer grand entertainment and numerous live shows. The fabulous and historic town of New Orleans is only an hour away.
The Gulfport harbor offers daily excursions to Cat Island. The Gulf Islands National Seashore is only a dozen miles off the coast and affords great swimming and a quiet place to hang out on your boat.

I am a pilot, a Captain with a major airline and have traveled all over the world. In all of my travels I have found the beaches of southern Mississippi to be some of the best and the beaches of the offshore islands are simply beautiful. The southern hospitality in this town is wonderful. My daughter in the picture loves it here in Gulfport.

Why Owner chose Gulfport
We like this area for the beaches and the offshore islands. You can't beat the proximity to the beaches, the golf courses, the casinos and the nearby military bases.
What makes this House unique
We like to walk the beach in the morning right at sunrise and again in the evening at sunset. We also enjoy walking to the nearby piers and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. We enjoy walking out our front door and crossing the street into the parking lot of the local Italian Seafood restaurant 'Salute' and feasting on great Italian fare and good Italian wine.

Perfect for our Family Get-together
We decided on Gulfport as a good half-way point for family members from Texas and Georgia to meet. Harrison House was the perfect home for our group of 5 (and would have comfortably accommodated our original number of 7). We were jealous of the kitchen and trying to figure out how we could reproduce the set-up in our own homes:) The house was beautiful and the owner was very responsive to our questions. The fenced-in backyard was a great size for our 4-legged family member and the walk to the beach was short. Despite some debris from tropical storm Nate, the beach was in decent condition and we spent many late afternoons enjoying the warm water.
Beautiful home. Close to the beach.
Home is in great condition. Owner is quick to respond and easy to work with.
Beautiful historic home w/great location
We had a short weekend visit with a family of 5 and a couple of friends. This house is beautiful! The upstairs room with 2 beds and bathroom accommodated the kids perfectly. Even though we had a handful of people, the 3 baths fit us all great. We could walk to the beach (and back when forgetting an item) and was still close to food and other fun. Our beach wedding was a short drive away and we loved hanging on the porch every extra minute! We even took the short drive to New Orleans for a day and still had porch time left :)
So relaxing and a neat place to stay.
I must admit I love staying in condos directly on the beach, however this was a pleasant change. My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was so relaxing swinging on the porch swing. Great location. Home was well stocked for our needs. Very very clean. We took our furbaby and I sometimes worry about pet friendly rentals. When we arrived I had no concerns for her safety or health. The home has nice large TVs, a great cooling system, and nice showers. The pics do not display the size of the home. The rooms are big with gorgeous windows and it has very tall ceilings that give the home a feeling of airy space. We enjoyed the back yard and admired the beautiful southern trees. Booking was easy and owner was always quick to respond if I had questions. Thanks again for sharing your home.
Perfect beach getaway!
Our family stayed at the Historic Harrison House for a week while visiting our son at Keesler AFB. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with a great backyard for our dog and deck space for grilling and enjoying the outdoors. The kitchen is lovely and well supplied for meals at the house. The walk to the beach is just a half block and the beach was a treat...clean, white sand with benches along the way. The owners were very accommodating and communicative. We highly recommend this vacation rental.
Historic Victorian Home was an excellent choice for my family in Gulfport, Ms.
Historic Victorian Home was all I hoped for and more. Beautiful Home nicely furnished with fenced backyard for our dogs. We were down for a family wedding and had 9 family members staying here. The house had everything we needed and was in excellent shape for a comfortable stay. The owner was easy to work with and very gracious. I will definitely stay here again and look forward to our next visit.
