4th of July to Remember
Sylvia's home on Taylors Pond is super and as described. For those who don't know the area, Taylors Pond is essentially a salt water estuary to Nantucket sound. We rented kayaks to enjoy on the pond and to travel to private beach on the sound. Enjoying morning coffee and evening cocktails on the deck was fantastic. Wifi and cable TV were perfect. Don't expect a mcmansion however plenty of space and old cape cod character/charm. Contrary to a few reviews from last year, we were happy to find that the home had been updated. And Sylvia could not have been more responsive and accommodating. Both she and her home are delightful. We highly recommend.
Our stay at the pond house
We spent 3 days at the pond house. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood and has very nice lake views from the house. The house was well furnished and very clean. All the bedrooms had very comfortable beds.
I am so glad you found the views of the salt water pond so pleasant. I sailed around in it, down the river from it & out in to Nantucket Sound - so beautiful. I am also very pleased that you found everything comfortable and clean. Thanks so much for your Review! Sylvia
Nice cottage in Chatham with a view
We had a very nice stay at Sylvia's cottage in Chatham. It is tucked away on Taylor's Pond. It was very clean and comfortable. It is only a few miles to Chatham where there is plenty of good restaurants and shopping. I would hope highly recommend this cottage.
We recently stayed at Taylor’s Pond
and enjoyed the home and it’s picturesque setting. The location is
ideal when staying in Chatham within walking distance to an uncrowded beach and a short ride into the downtown area.
I am so glad you enjoyed our picturesque setting and found it convenient to Chatham village. Sylvia
Cottage on the pond
Our stay was terrific. It was the perfect location for us. The house suited our needs perfectly. Overall it's a great spot. The owner met us upon arrival and was very helpful in directing us to services around the area. The house it's self needs some TLC: interior painting, shrub trimming, repair sliding door to porch....the never ending stuff we all do at home.
We are glad your stay was terrific.
Thank you for your Review. This helps us repair anything we missed and it helps us attract more Travelers
We did an extensive renovation last Spring which ran into a lengthy repair and we ran out of time to do the interior painting. We plan to do that this off season.
We had a great deal of rain last Spring which made everything really grow & the bushes got away from us. We plan to prune in the early Spring - the best time.
The sliding glass door is ready to be installed.
Terrific location for our biking and kayaking vacation!
Layout of house is nice with private master bedroom with own bath and large closet.
Hi Maggie, Thanks for your nice Review of our home. I am glad you had a good time biking & kayaking. Sylvia
Songbirds sing you to sleep and summer southwest breezes whistle through pine, oak and cedar. Striped bass break the sunset waters of Taylors Pond. Nantucket Sound can be heard lapping just over the hill. Though the bustle of downtown Chatham is only 3.6 miles away, with free Cape Cod League baseball games, theaters and shops, The Pondhouse is blanketed from road noise and nestled on Critical Wildlife Area sixty feet from high tide mark! A .4 mile walk along hundreds of acres of preserved salt marsh brings you to Cockle Cove Beach and .8 miles to bike path! The Pondhouse is private yet open and airy and filled with light. It sports newly renovated gardens, renovated kitchen, laundry, paintings by local artists, craftsmen style finish carpentry and fireplace in main room. The spacious deck with grill sports what has been deemed the best sunsets in all of Chatham. WiFi, Cable, local phone, 23' flatscreen, DVD.
